I have to agree. I have been going to WDW every other year since the early 90's, and I have actually seen more wear than I ever have seen before this past visit in January. I did notice the parkinglot thing, and the people I was with even commented on it. There does seem to be more chipped paint, etc than there used to be.
The truth is it's still great, but that's because their standard used to be so high, that you notice the small wear and tear things here and there if the occur.
They do need to nip it in the bud, because it's not good if people think to themselves, "Wow, that was in better shape the last time I was here". And people DO notice the little things, like litter not being picked up, chipped railings, and and audioanimatronics figure that isn't working. It all sounds trivial, but the perception builds when people see these things more and more times during their day.
