Anyone Cruising Sept. 25-29, 2005??

This will be our very first Disney Cruise. The kids, ages 8 and 11, are SO excited! I think I am excited as they are !! We have been assigned a Secret Inside Stateroom (something like that) on Deck 5.

Just checking to see if anyone will be cruising with us!!

Diana
P.S. I just joined this forum today, so be nice to the newbie!!

Welcome to TD!!!

Your going to love the disney cruise!!

If im not mistakin the room you have is one of 5 differnt secret porthole rooms. They charge the same price as a inside stateroom however you get a porthole. The catch is the view is somtimes obstructed by equipment or a beam or something of that nature.

You must have booked far in advance as those rooms sell out quickly.

Any questions feel free to post. I have taken 4 disney cruises myself so I kinda am the resident expert around here

Curt

Thank you Curt! We are so very excited. I did book a bit in advance, so I am lucky we got this room for the price we paid. I am not concerned at all about have an obstructed view (if at all). I am pretty laid back and not "high maintenance". I am just happy that we can afford to take this awesome opportunity. I am slightly concerned about hurricane season being at it's peak in September. What happens if a hurricane is projected the exact weekend we are supposed to go? Will DCL reschedule us another weekend or do we lose our money if we don't purchase the insurance? Just curious!

in the event of a hurricane they reroute the ship to differnt ports of call and keep it well out of the hurricanes way. Now if you happen to board the day a hurricane is due in florida they will shorten the cruise by a day. Keep in mind that even with last years record breaking hurricane season it mostly only affected the ports of call. My friend / coworker was on the disney cruise when there were 3 hurricanes out there and she still had a blast. I would not worry about that to much.

That's what I thought. I live in the Orlando area, so I am well aware of the horrible hurricanes! I was out of power for 2 weeks for all 3 hurricanes! I hope they miss this year. We can only hope!

I'm going on the cruise anyway! So, hurricane or not.....here we come!!

Diana, welcome to Talk Disney!
I wish I was going on a cruise that soon, unfortunately (or not ) I'll just be getting back from Disneyland a few days before that crusie departs.

We're pretty close, I'm in Winter Park
