2 year 10 month old in Oceaneer Club?

Hi,
This is my first post and I would like ask if anyone knows if Disney has any flexibility with the age requirements of the Disney Oceaneer Club?

We are planning on taking a disney cruise next year and our son will be 2 years and 10 months old at that point. And I was wondering if we may be able to leave him in the Oceaneer club instead of the Nursery.

Both programs sound nice but not sure which would be a better fit for our son.
Thanks!

Welcome to TD! I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm sure someone around here does. Have you done a "search" on your question? Again, welcome!

Re: 2 year 10 month old in Oceaneer Club?

You can call the cruise line (1-800-951-3532) and talk to them, but I think they will likely have your child stay at Flounder's Reef, which runs about $5 an hour. They are pretty specific in stating that Flounder's Reef is for children up to 36 months and your child MUST be potty trained to participate in the Oceaneer Club. If they are not flexible about your son's age, I would suggest waiting until he's 3 to cruise. My daughter was 9 when we went on our cruise last year and she really enjoyed the children's program and wanted to participate several hours per day.

In order to save money and let your son have his pick of activities, I would definitely wait to cruise until he's old enough for Oceaneer's.

You can also save tons of money by booking your cruise during Sep/Oct. Last year we went the 2nd week of Sep and I thought my kids might be some of the only ones on board. There were around 1,800 kids on the ship!

Hope this helped. Good luck!

Penny

Re: 2 year 10 month old in Oceaneer Club?

Hello.
Thanks for the reply. Thanks for the tip on time of year to travel! We did find that out a few years ago as we rode the Disney Magic in October for our Honeymoon!

So we really have been wanting to come back!

We talked it over and yes he may not get alot out of it. But we feel we will all still enjoy it and it will be nice trip where we can still be with him and relax.

Re: 2 year 10 month old in Oceaneer Club?

I took my just under 3 twin DDs on the Wonder in May. They loved the Oceaneer's Club. You can bring your child in if you stay with them at any age (for free). My girls aren't used to a big crowd of children so I think it would have been too much for them alone but we stopped by after dinner most nights for 10 minutes and they loved it!
