Hello all! We cruised with Disney five years ago and are returning in October to celebrate our one year old's birthday! I need to know what baby gear to bring. I know an umbrella stroller would probably be best given the tight squeeze in the hallway. Can anyone recommend a brand? Also, any other tips to make the trip more comfortable for him would be great.
Thank you!
Hi there. We went last year when our youngest was 20 months old and the oldest was just four. We brought a dual umbrella stroller by Kolcraft, with canopies and reclining seats. In theory - a great stroller. In practicality, not so much good at Disney parks. Not sure about the cruiseline either. Did you look at the reviews section? There might be helpful info there. The Kolcraft model, for the record, did have nice amenities - the reclining, the canopy etc.. It just wasn't up to the hills and bumps and turns at the parks.
Good luck...

I'd try a baby back-pack rather than a stroller. The kiddo will see way more of the vacation rather than other guest's legs.

We have a Jeep folding stroller that we bought specifically for Disney. The umbrella strollers are easy to fold up but, lets face it, you only fold it up twice during the day - to get on the tram (or bus) to and from the parks. So, you might want to go with what will work best for you while spending 8 or so hours at the parks. The umbrella will not fold back for easy napping, most have a flimsy shade, or none at all, and is a bear to push around the park. Plus, there's no tray for snacking. The Jeep stroller folds up easy using only one hand. The seat folds back for easy napping, has a tray with cup holder for snack time, has a basket in the bottom for carrying bags and packages, has a cup hold for mom and/or dads drink, has shocks for easy ride and turns very easily too. Now, granted, it was much more expensive then the umbrella. But, well worth it for comfort and value in the long run. Plus, with a one year old, you'll be using it for awhile. HAVE FUN IN DISNEY AND HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO YOUR LITTLE ONE!
OPPS! I just realized that you'll be on the cruise, not at the parks. So ,this isn't helpful to you. But, I'll leave it up in case someone else is looking for stroller information

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
we used on our last trip to disney(granted not a cruise) Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean by: Combi International.. very light weight, seems well made, not heavy at all and easy to steer around tight spots. check it out at babies r us

Thank you all for the suggestions... please keep them coming! We do have a sling that he is quite happy in so I'm sure it will get alot of use but I'm pretty convinced I need the compact stroller as well, there are just to many to choose from. We use a bugaboo normally but that will be too much for the boat I'm sure. Thanks for the birthday wishes as well. I can't believe a year is up already!
We plan on getting either a Jeep jogger stroller or the Baby Trend Expedition. They're both jogger style strollers but they seem well maneuverable.
Keep in mind the jeep jogger (I have one too) is kind of large even when folded in half and it's a bit heavy to be lugging around inside crowds when you have to walk and carry it in.
