We did the Disney cruise back in 2000 and I'm pretty sure we were able to use cash on board at that time - from what I've been reading it sounds like that isn't the case anymore. I was wondering though if you can use Disney Dollars on the cruise though. We are planning to cruise again in November 2007. Thanks.

That's a good question and one I'm interested to read the answer to as well. When we went last year, the only accepted form of payment was your 'key to the world', a.k.a. your room key. I'm not sure how they would provide change for your Disney Dollars, since all of the transactions are handled through the Key Card. I know that the DisneyCruise web site has a link to e-mail any questions, and two weeks ago when I e-mailed them a question, they replied within hours. You can always try that route. Good luck, and post whatever new info you find out for the rest of us, okay?

Everything that you purchase is charged to your room via your key card.
I am fairly sure that you would only be able to use Disney Dollars to pay for your accumulated bill at the end of the cruise. I may be wrong though!!

we were on second cruise in january and all through key card. You can go to guest services and pay any amount at any time. You may also prepay for set limits and such...

You can use the Disney Dollars to put money towards your Key to the World card, but you can not use them anywhere else on the ship. My daughter was quite disappointed last year when she tried to make a purchase in the ship store with the Disney Dollars she had received from Santa. Santa's much wiser this year and will have a different solution for our next cruise.

I gave all my nephews Disney Dollars for their birthdays leading up to our Sept. 06 cruise. My brother in law went directly to Guest Services as soon as we boarded and it was applied to their account.
