Just wondering.. I really was thinking of disney cruise sometime soon. I'm a huge disneyholic, but I don't know if the cruise is really for me. I mean, from big disney fans, is it as fun as the theme parks?? (of course, in a different way.) And it's all inclusive...right?? And how's castaway cay?? I'm going to (in addition) read up on some other old discussions about disney cruise on talkdisney, but if anyone has any fresh ideas???
Thankssss

In my opinion, anyone who can afford it should do the Disney Cruise at least once in their life, even if it is the three day one. My wife and I went without our kids and enjoyed every second...actually there wasn't enough time to do everything that we wanted to. Castaway Cay was wonderful, although the day we were there the fishing and parasailing were cancelled because it was too windy. I really can't say enough positive things about the trip and only hope that you get to go!

hmmm...might have to look into that....Do you feel like " great...stuck on a boat...how much could you possibly do?"? Or do you find out that there is so much you don't have time to dwell on the fact you can't park hop? That's what is holding us back. We love to go where we want when we feel like it....not sure if you can do that on a Ship?

I've done three cruises, one Disney and two Royal Caribbean. Honestly, I prefered the Royal Caribbean, even though I am a disneyaholic. There's more destinations to choose from, bigger ships with more fun things to do, and the teen programs are better.
When I went on the Disney Cruise, I did enjoy it. I spent most of my days at the pool, since I was about 8 years old at the time... The best thing about the Disney cruise staterooms is the two bathrooms... we were in a deluxe with a balcony. Plenty of space for the four of us. The dining honestly wasn't that memorable. I was looking so forward to the Animator's Palette restaurant, but I was rather disappointed with it. The colors didn't really show up that well on the wall. Out of all of the cruises I've been on, surprisingly, the Disney Waiters and Waitresses were the least friendly and personable. On a cruise, you have the same waitor/waitress for your entire trip, and you usually get to know them pretty well.
Don't worry about being bored, though. There's plenty to do. The best thing about cruising Disney is they're totally Disney Broadway-like shows. They also have a movie theater onboard where you can go and watch Disney movies. New ones, too. If you were a kid, which you aren't, you'd have fun in the kids' clubs, and get a free tee-shirt at the end of the week (my favorite part... that's all I went for, though - the shirt). There's an adults-only pool, a family pool, and a kids-only pool with a fun slide. A cage for basketball - that's usually not onboard a ship. No rock climbing wall or ice-skating rink, though. And no casino. Not like I could go there, anyway. I can't remember whether or not if there's an arcade. I doubt you'll get bored, though. I never get bored on cruises. There's always so much to do, no matter what cruise line you choose! (Oh, and at the Goofy pool, they usually have Goofy come out for dancing lessons in the late afternoon. Quite fun!)

Is this cruise all-inclusive?? When I looked into prices, it looked very steep...
Yes, it is all-inclusive...EXCEPT for those neat looking fancy tropical drinks they walk around deck with constantly and the arcade...those cost extra.
I think the cruise is what you make of it. Obviously, being on a ship you are limited to how much you can do or where you can go, but I can only imagine this being an issue if it rains the majority of your time.

There is certainly plenty to do on the cruise and probably some things that you might never have tried elsewhere. Personally I did not feel as though we "stuck" on a boat. You have a different port of call almost every day to explore, and coming back to the boat was like coming back to your hotel resort. Whilst in Port you can pretty much come and go as you please to the ship.
It is nothing like being at WDW, and you definitely have to switch down a gear, but after all the hustle and bustle of the parks it is quite a nice change. Can't wait for my next cruise!

I have been on 6 cruises including 1 Disney. I wish I could afford to do one each year. I love the fact that you can enjoy the ship and explore the ports of call as well. I have convinced several of my friends who weren't so sure and they now love cruising as well.
I would go for it!
I have been on several cruises: 3 with other cruise lines and 1 with Disney. Now that we have cruised Disney we will never go back! We didn't have time to get bored and can't wait til we can sail again. We did not get to experience Castaway Cay yet, because we were fortunate enough to do the West Coast Cruise when the Magic was on the west coast for DLR's 50th anniversary. If you are unsure about giving up the parks for a cruise I might suggest to you the 7 day land/sea. You can either do the parks for 3 days and the cruise for 4 days or the other way around. That way you could check it out and still have your park hopping adventure at WDW. The shows were great, I enjoyed the rotation through the different restaurants, and having the characters on board was awesome. The shows were excellent and of course the shopping was just what this Disney nut needed . Good luck on deciding what to do - I hope whatever it is you have the most magical time ever!
