Cruise Activities for Adults

Adults Find Myriad Ways to Escape on Disney Cruise Line

CELEBRATION, Fla. -- Disney Cruise Line offers cruise vacations to be enjoyed by the young and young at heart, with a wide variety of events and activities that cater specifically to passengers 18 years of age and older. From elegant dinners, to backstage tours, to an exclusive beach on Disney's private island, adults will find endless ways to relax and enjoy themselves. And the adult offerings continue to expand; Disney Cruise Line recently added an adults-only sports pub and gourmet coffee shop to both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder cruise ships.

Eat. . .
Disney Cruise Line offers dining experiences specifically for adults; elegant and peaceful, they are designed to suit sophisticated tastes. Palo, located high atop both ships, is an exclusive restaurant at sea. Sweeping ocean views, a stylish setting and exquisite Italian fare are just a few of the ways Palo caters exclusively to adult guests. The Cove Café is the perfect place to sit back, sip a gourmet coffee and read a book or magazine, surf the web or check your e-mail. Light snacks are offered at this peaceful retreat located near the Quiet Cove Pool.

Relax. . .
Take a dip in the Quiet Cove Pool, bask in the sun in one of many poolside chaise lounges, or unwind in one of two adjoining whirlpool spas.
The recently expanded Vista Spa and Salon offers three brand new and specifically designed "spa villas," complete with an indoor spa treatment suite, connected to a private outdoor verandah with personal hot tub, open air shower and luxurious chaise lounge. With incredible ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes, the new treatment suites provide guests with a romantic getaway into a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship.
As part of the Vista Spa expansion, the fitness area doubled in size, providing space for more exercise equipment, an area for spinning classes and a couple of private salons for Pilates instruction and one-on-one beauty and fitness consultations. The expansion adds an additional 1,700-square feet to the fitness center, bringing the total size of the Vista Spa to 10,700-square feet.

Other spa treatments such as massages, body wraps and pedicures are available, while the salon offers a broad range of services.
On Disney Cruise Line's private island Castaway Cay, adults have a beach all their own. At Serenity Bay, sparkling turquoise waters meet pristine white sand, palm fronds sway in the breeze and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and two-person hammocks are provided for guests to enjoy. The respite is nearly a mile from the other beaches and the nearby Castaway Air Bar serves specialty drinks and a barbeque lunch.

Play. . .
Three different nightclubs along Beat Street (Disney Magic) and Route 66 (Disney Wonder) offer fun just for adults after 9 p.m. every night. Three totally different atmospheres -- a trendy dance club, a casual sports pub and a swanky piano bar -- afford adults the chance to try something different each night.

Enrichment. . .
Learn the secrets behind the enchanting dining experiences with Disney's Art of Entertaining. Guests meet with experts for tips in creating everything from fanciful desserts to floral masterpieces.
Dive into the mysteries of the sea, with Disney's Navigator Series. Storytellers spin tales of pirates, treasures, exotic islands and classic ocean liners while bridge officers host demonstrations on navigational techniques and customs.

Disney Behind-the-Scenes gives guests a sneak peek behind the curtain of the magnificent Walt Disney Theatre, along with other exciting entertainment-related activities.

With the From Stem to Stern wine tasting, guests learn to sip like a pro by meeting with one of the ship's sommeliers and sampling different wines from all over the world.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line offers three-, four- and seven-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Land/sea vacation packages that include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort are also available. Both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will embark on new itineraries in 2006, with the Disney Magic including a seven-night alternate western Caribbean itinerary making two stops at Castaway Cay, while the Disney Wonder will sail two first-ever 10- and 11-night itineraries to the Southern Caribbean.
