Hi Everyone, I am new to the site & my family & I are trying to plan a trip to disney. I have 3 kids ranging from 3-8 and we can't decide on which month to go. We want to go somewhere between August-December. We would like the weather to be warm enough to enjoy the pools but not too hot where we are all miserable. We would also like to find a time when the lines aren't too bad either. Can anyone give us any advice?
Well, that depends on what you mean by warm enough to enjoy the pools. I see northerners in the pools on days where I'm absolutely shivering!
I would suggest early to mid-November. The crowds were not horrible and it is warm, but not sweltering hot. And the ocean is starting to cool down, so there's less chance of a hurricane than in August through October.
My personal favorite is the second week of January. It can get pretty cool and sometimes downright cold, but it's so uncrowded at that time of year!

I suggest going right after Thanksgiving. Its still warm, but not hot, and Disney is all dressed up for Christmas !! If you go around the week after T-giving the crowds arent too bad at all. Thats when we'll be there for our second year in a row.

We went the week after Thanksgiving and it was great. My 4 kids went swimming every day, crowds were very light, and the Christmas decorations were wonderful. It got a little chilly at night, but considering it was in the 30's & 40's at home 55 didn't feel bad. We only used FastPass 2 times the entire trip. You can't believe the Christmas decorations, it really gets you in the spirt. Have fun with the planning it's one of my favorite parts of the trip.
We went in OCtober and it was amazing!! It was warm enough to where we went to both water parks and the resort pool and it was still cool enough (Lower 80's) to enjoy the parks without sweating to death.

We went the last two weeks of October. The weather was great - plenty warm enough for the pools and water parks but not so hot that it was unbearable. We did not need jackets either in the evening. The crowds were light and best of all we got to enjoy Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Enjoy!
we always go last week of september first week of october weather is really nice not alot of crowds in the park but also you get to do mickeys not so scarey halloween party

I applaud your Oct/Nov. choice! We went in December last year and it was either freezing or raining most of the time. Ugh! It was too cold for the pool in my opinion and just one day was really "warm". And even that petered out and went cold by 5pm. So - I would totally go in early November. That's just me.
I would definitely not recommend the week of Thanksgiving. It is very crowded. If you have to push a stroller around, you are either hitting peoples' feet or getting hit yourself. If you could go the weeks after I am sure that would be wonderful. It is absolutely beautiful when the parks transfer to Christmas time. Disneyworld is the best place to be!! Good Luck and have a wonderful trip!!
