Re: Make a Wish/give kids the world

HI Gloria. My family went in June 2004. My daughter who had the wish granted was 4. We had an unbeliveable experience. Make a wish organised everything from the taxi from our home to over 200 miles to the airport in London England and back. We were given more than adequate spending money.

The village itself is out of this world. It`s so hard to describe but it is just like being in a fairy tale world for the children. From reception there was an ice cream factory which you could have as much ice cream, toppings, hot dogs, as you want. The restaurant was ok for adults but great for kids. The seats are all child size and the volunteers make so much fuss of the children. It is so clean and tidy and there is piped music in the grounds playing disney songs. The bungalows have everything you need and more and the bath in the main bathroom was big enough for all of 5 of us to sit in!! There is a walmart just up the road and the volunteers are happy to take you there as many times as you like if you don`t have your own transport.

Now disney itself. Well we all had passes to the parks. We never had to go in line as the child has a badge and you get a pass which will get you to the front of the line. Seeing the characters themself, well they make so much fuss of the wish childrem. Ariel the mermaid sat my daugher on her knee for a good few minutes and talked to her. When we saw Tigger etc she had the room to herself and same for Minney and Mickey. My daughter had such a great time. My daughter was chosen to take part in the lion king show which was great. She also took part in Pocohontas. I did feel a little guilty that she was made such of a fuss of but then again she has gone through more than anyone should ever go through in her short life.

We also had passes to universal which we didn`t use because we were too tired and we also went to seaworld, but we were too tired to enjoy that too. To come from England and see all of disney in a week is too short a time. But we will be going again hopefully next year. My daughter was too small for some of the rides as although she was 4 she was more like a 2 year old in size and weight.

If you have any questions don`t hesitate to ask or PM me.

    Carol (UK)

I forgot to mention that there is a pizza takeaway and the pizza`s are really nice. We had one of the bungalows in front of the swimming pool and the pizza place is behind it. The swimming pool is great too. There were a few days when my girls were in it all day. Because the bungalow was so close I was able to have some time to myself.

Your son looks like such a joy. One of my Granddaughters (6 yrs old) had surgery for Brain Cancer. It is such a blessing to see his happy face.
Thank God for all the people who are a part of Make a Wish and the work they do.
My home is in St Petersburg, Fl and wanted to let you know it will be Hot when you come. Make sure you bring water, spray misters and things to keep you cool. My family has gone to all the parks and it was one magical moment after another. The looks on the liitle ones faces are treasures - enjoy.
