Re: How young is TOO young?
I don't think it's a matter of too young. I think it's the parents forgetting thier children have schedules they are used to. But maybe under 6 mnths...thier hearing is so delicate. the rides and shows might be too loud for them.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I dont think any age is too young ... I voted under 6 months though because like Catz said .. they are sensitive to sounds and its probably a little too noisy and overstimulating for them. I think taking babies is easy because they sit in the stroller and nap when they feel like it. Of course you cant have a strict itinerary when traveling with a baby .. you sorta have to just go with the flow and stop frequently .. but I wouldnt let age stop me from traveling with them.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I think anything under 5 is to young for several reasons, first, as in my 2nd daughters case, some children are terrified of the characters, second I want them to remember the experience and younger than 5 they my not (my son was 7 and he does not remember much except he did not like chip and dale. Last for me is the whole trip is just much to hard, they get tired easy and really get cranky, thus taking some of the fun out of it for me too. Again each child is different and parents make choices based on that.

I'm in my 40s and I'm still a bit scared of the characters...LOL! No, really. The ones where you can't see their faces freak me out a little.

Re: How young is TOO young?
Good point .. I see that alot too. We will be avoiding the characters to a certain point when we go in Nov. My guys really love all the Disney characters but not so sure once they see them in person. I know my guys arent going to remember this trip ... good thing we go every six months !! Soon or later it will stick in their memory !!

Re: How young is TOO young?
Maybe bringing a newborn to the parks is okay if you don't plan to stay all day everyday but PLEASE cover the child up! I cannot tell you how many people we saw that had their newborns in the strollers totally uncovered and in nothing but a diaper! I feel so sorry for those kids!

I remember going to the World's Fair, and I was only 5. I don't remember everything, but certain parts like It's a Small World are very distinct memories.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I personally feel you should take your kids to WDW when they are at an age were they will remember their fun time at WDW and can appreciate everything at WDW. Then they will have a fun trip to talk about and remember. When their to young it is not wealth taking them at all. You will be spending most of your try cope with your kids very short attention span and crankiness, because they will get over stimulated.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I have seen many of folks struggle with young kids.... I did not want to bring mne until they could remember it and be able to experience it truly...my personal would be under 2-3 should seriously think about it. With that said..... as long as i dont have to hear crying babies while i eat or ruin my shows have at it.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I think any age is fine, it's your family vacation to do with what u want...
AND I remember the park when I was 2, that was my first trip to Disney. I remember all the subsequent trips since, ranging from 2yrs. to now.
All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you. --- Walt Disney

We took our DS at 3 months for his first trip. Just keep in mind they're feeding and quiet time schedules.

Re: How young is TOO young?
I did not see a space for my vote . When our girls were young we took them at the ages of 2 and 4 . They loved it !
I feel each child and family is different and should be aware of what the child can handle. We paced the day and took them back for a nap when they tired .
It was truely one of my favorite vacations !

Re: How young is TOO young?
I took my two children last november when they were one. They did enjoy it, however they did become tired. I think it is a matter of being sensible with them,ie keeping them out of the midday sun and going every other day. But they had a great time and loved playhouse Disney, also I have memories that I will treasure forever.
