The monorail system at Walt Disney World was shut down temporarily, after a pilot was shocked Saturday evening.


Disney officials have confirmed the incident happened, while the pilot was flipping a switch on the monorail.


The park was forced to temporarily shut down part of the system to de-energize it.


Eyewitness News has been told the employee was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, but will be fine.


The monorail is back up and running.

That is not good. I am glad that the piolt was okay. I wander wnat could have caused the shock??

How odd.

Has there been any comment from Disney about the size of the shock? I mean could it have just been a heavy static discharge? Or maybe a lightening strike on the monorail (not that I have any idea if either of these things could result in a shock to the driver but obviously something was wrong somewhere!).
