Be 'Brave' with new iPhone and iPad apps

If your kids are excited about the upcoming release of the Disney Pixar animated film “Brave,” you can give in to their excitement in different ways.

A trip to Scotland would be fun for the family but probably overly expensive. What about archery sets for the youngsters to play with? Fun, right? Well, maybe that’s not such a good idea when you consider the neighbors’ windows, their cats and dogs, and the other kids in the neighborhood, as well.

Maybe the safest bet to carry over the fun from the movie is a couple of iPhone and iPad apps recently released by Disney Publishing Worldwide. Both “Brave: Storybook Deluxe” and “Brave Interactive Comic” apps are available for iOS devices and feature interactive content to allow fans of Princess Merida to follow her exploits of bravery and adventure while on the go.

In “[replacer_a],” children 5 and older can follow a complete retelling of Merida's story as she fulfills her destiny. The app uses character voices, animation, story art and interactive elements to enthrall readers. There’s also an archery game that users can enjoy. It sells for $6.99 in Apple’s App Store.

[replacer_a]” is for older kids, 7 to 12, and is a richly animated and interactive graphic novel that features special effects, music and sounds. It also features step-by-step drawing lessons, too. It sells for $1.99 and is available at Apple’s App Store, too.

Nah! We go to Scotland for two weeks every year.

I knew there had to be some advantage of living in England instead over there in the good old US of A!

    Great post Ryan. Thanks!
