I'm not really the type to have Pal Mickey's, but if you want to get the inside scoop and history on the parks, you should get it; especially if it's your first time. But, like laughingplace said, they can be a hassle to carry around

Has anyone bought a PAL Mickey lately? Do you think a 2 1/2 year old is too small for one? Do they update each year or how does that work?
We bought ours in 2006 so I don't know if I would consider that "lately" but yes they do update each year. Thus far we have taken it back once and he's already in our carry on for this year's trip. Just make sure you have batteries handy for the update. Mickey uses a decent amount of power.
For a two and a half year old he just might be a cool stuffed "animal." He does play games and tells jokes and what naught, and that just might be a little too "grown up." My youngest was 5 when we got him and she had a blast, because she was able to play the games.
Of course, I have to admit we all play with him from time to time. Including the 33 year old hubby. *Shhh* don't tell anyone. LOL
