Has anyone purchase the Pal Mickey recently? I am looking for information on recent updates, history, success of the product, your favorite features and more.
What kind of information do they collect from you when you purchased the Pal Mickey? Do you receive any customized products, offers, communication after visiting parks because of the Pal Mickey?
Any information you guys would have with your experience or knowledge of this product would be immensely helpful!!!
Re: Pal Mickey report for school! Please help me :-)
That is a question that I cannot answer. I was not aware that the DS was for rent at the parks. I do know that it was for sale.
We do have a recent thread on that.

We bought Mickey during our trip in 2006. We LOVE it. The only "info" they took was our money. LOL He would let us know about characters that were nearby while in the parks, gave us fastpass times and other ride info as well as incredibly corny jokes and games that matched the park and area of the park we were in at the time. (LOVED that part) ie: buzz lightyear jokes in tomorrow land, princess themed games in fantasy land, and goofy stuff in toon town.
When we took him back in 2007 he updated with NO problems, we just had to replace his batteries in the first park. He will be going with us again in May. Our Daughter sleeps with him at night, and the hubby, son and I all play with him for the jokes and games stuff when we are missing Disney.
Hope that helps!

I've heard reports that, because some people don't want to carry a bulky Mickey Mouse toy round the parks all day, they rip out the inner workings and carry that around instead, disposing of the toy itself (or maybe just stuffing it in the trunk of the car).
How barbaric - poor Mickey!

Re: Pal Mickey report for school! Please help me :-)
We've bought three pal mickeys on our last three visits, not because there was anything wrong with him, but because I forgot to bring him with me!!! We have three slightly different types, the original and then I think one was dressed in tails. The last one we bought, gave up working after the first day or so, and we took him back to a different park and it was no problem to have him replaced.
They have never asked me for any info about ourselves!
Pal Mickey is great fun, but I wish he would do a little more, the jokes get a little tiresome after a while, it would be good if he was more interactive, but some things he says are so cute, it makes up for it!

We purchased a Pal Mickey and he was used on two seperate trips to the park. He can be used in each park and has different things to say at each park. He needs to be activated as you enter each park by holding him face forward up at shoulder height. He is on the expensive side (About $65), but he was enjoyed by all. He is rather big to carry around and can be quite difficult to hear at times.besides the cute family freindly jokes. He plays games such as multiple choice and finish the song.
We did not get asked any questions when we purchased our Pal. And did not recieve any further products or offers after our trip for the purchase.
We got the sorrccer Mickey (it came with a yellow Pal Mickey Lanyard which you could attach the mickey too), I believe they come out with a new version every year. They also sell clothes and accessories for pal mickey so you can customize him in outfits you choose (much like Build a bear)
Once home with Pal you can still play games and listen to the jokes, the interactive park information will not be available... that stuff will only be heard in the parks.
GL with your report!

Man, that's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that.
We've had a PAL Mickey for about 4 years and he's great. Personally, the only problem I find with him is that if you have him tied around your belt or sitting on a stoller, it's very hard to hear him. We usually try to keep him somewhere where the speaker faces us, otherwise, he's something to pass the time with.
