I just held mine. I wrapped the vale around the ears part and held onto it.

Re: Honeymoon perks

But what about the guys with their top hats? I see them walking around the parks all the time. They must be going on rides, right? I know the hats don't collapse.

Re: Honeymoon perks

I guess there aren't that many rides where you can't wear the hats - or at least hold them. Disney isn't really known for it's thrill rides . Certainly rides like Thunder Mountain aren't too ferocious so you should be able to hang onto the bar with one hand and a hat with another.

And don't the faster rides like Space Mountain and Everest have nets to put loose items in?

I'd imagine, one way or another, you should be able to keep your hats intact and do most of the rides. The only possible exception would be the water rides. You might want to use a locker for these ones!

Re: Honeymoon perks

we did wear our ears (top hat for hubby) around the park! it was so much fun! on Splash Mountain we were set appart and then got to ride the log by ourselves for a great photo! Hubby and I are holding on to our hats on that pic! we got free dessert and an ovation at Sci Fi, complimentary champagne glasses at Le Cellier, and mousekeeping arranged our hats with towel art on our window, and we got balloons and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie in our room upon our arrival (we did say it was our honeymoon when booking) at Pop Century!

Re: Honeymoon perks

A word of advice for newlyweds at WDW...

Don't expect perks, even if you wear the bride and groom ears. Even if you don't get any free food or special seating on rides, you will definitely get tons of congratulations wherever you go from both CMs and guests.

Taking the groom hats on rides isn't really a problem. They can be stored under the seat or on the floor, depending on the ride. The bride ears can be wrapped up in the veil, as ILoveTink8808 said. Then they can carefully be sat upon on rides like ToT.

Make sure you get the "Just Married" buttons when you check in, and both bride and groom should wear them for the whole trip...even with the ears.

Congratulations!

Here's another good tip. Make sure all your reservations know it's your honeymoon. If you're staying on-property, call them up and ask them to add it to your reservation. Same goes for dining reservations. Make sure the hotel and restaurants know in advance that you're a honeymoon couple. No guarantees, but you never know!
