Question New Resorts At DLR?

I was thinking about the DLR, and realized that they have very few hotels for the parks they have, and plan to build in comparison to WDW. Does anybody know whether DLR plans to add additional hotels with the opening of their new park?

Even in comparison to DLP they have few hotels. When the resort opened in 1992, there were already seven hotels while there was only the Magic Kingdom then.

I doubt DL will build any new resorts in the near future. There isn't too much land and there are so many hotels nearby too. W D W has the advantage of having a lot of land and also it is pretty far from any other hotels, so onsite hotels is a great advantage to guests. At DL there are some non Disney hotels that are closer to the front gates than the Disney hotels.

I am not too familiar with DLR, I just knew that they didn't have many and WDW has 20+. If they build this third theme park, I would expect them to add at least one more; hopefully.

#1. The third theme park is not scheduled to be open till 2010. This means it is not an immediate concern.

#2. The cost of land is much higher here in Ca. then it is in Fl. (Why do you think the Disney Co. was able to get so much property in Fl.? - - - It wasn't because the cost of land was the same as here in Ca.

#3. DLR has a "Good Neighbor" policy with over 35 local hotels & motels. Guests can book vacation packages staying @ these locations

#4. Disney may purchase some of the larger outside hotels and convert as they begin to expand.

#5. The possibility of a new Disney Hotel being built has not been ruled out.

Thanks for the extensive info, MG. I didn't realize they had so many "good-neighbor" policies in CA. They only have a handfull down here at WDW.
