I am happy to be going to Disneyland for the third time in August. I am so excited to see all of the changes they made from last year!
(cough, Finding Nemo Finding Nemo Finding Nemo... )
Anyways, last year we stayed at Paradise Pier and really enjoyed the extra magic hours we recieved even though the program works a little bit differently than in Disney World. This year, we will be adding a trip to LA and can't really afford the disney hotel price. We were looking at the good neighbour hotel Fairfield Inn Mariott. It is close by in disney.
I was just wondering if anyone has stayed there before, and has any feedback on it?
Oh and also- we aren't booking through disney, we will be booking through expedia because it is cheaper. I was just wondering, I heard people say that if you get a 5 day park hopper, you automatically get extra magic hours... is that true?
Because we will be getting 5 day park hoppers and the fact that we aren't getting the benefit of extra magic hours from the disney resorts is killing us...
thanks for any feedback!!

Re: DLR xtra magic hours included with park hopper?
Hello. I've never been to Disneyland so I can't really help you there, but I was wondering...You say expedia is cheaper than Disney, that could be due to the hotel being a good neighbor. Have you tried contacting Mariott directly? I frequently do a "test search" in expedia and orbitz and then go to the hotels website and always get better rates there. Also, if you call them instead of booking online, you may get another discount. This happened to me with a Best Western twice.

Re: DLR xtra magic hours included with park hopper?
I don't know if it is the same at DLR, but at WDW the extra magic hours are connected to a resort stay and not a ticket type. I don't know if the good neighbor hotels count or not. I know that we did get a voucher for early entry one day when we went to DLR in 2005 (we were staying at a good neighbor hotel on that trip). I wish I had more for you, but I hope that helps. I would maybe check with the Marriott and see what they know or call Disney Travel. Good luck and have a great time planning your trip.
