Re: Grand Californian Restaurant Recommendations??

sorry i'm little late. for anyone else heading out here

the Napa Rose is right in the hotel and the food is wonderful
the Hearthstone Lounge in the lobby, has a bar and is great for singles or couples
and the room service Bacon Cheeseburger is really good!

there are also some great restaurants at downtown disney and you don't need to go far.

for someone bringing kids
Storyteller's Cafe has a character breakfast - Chip N Dale
so does PCH Grill w/ Lilo & Stitch (at Paradise Pier across the street) and the disneyland hotel has a Goofy character breakfast.

Re: Grand Californian Restaurant Recommendations??

we had the same kind of experience. when we went there in the evening as a couple, the people in the bar lounge were very "low key" compared to other servers. maybe because they serve alcohol and its more of an adult atmosphere? it almost felt like they were ignoring us during that visit. after about 15 minutes of studying the menu, we actually had to stop someone to get our order in.

but when we walked in during the day with a group (including kids), they were very Disney there.
