re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

Hmm.. good question...
I would think he would get more personal attention from the characters by having dinner at chef Mickeys. Perhaps do the park in the morning early Chef Mickey dinner (5pm) an then head right back to HM for Fantasmic. If Fantasmic is at 8pm this should give you time to eat and travel back. Not 100% if the show is at 8 or 9pm. You probably will want to be at the attraction 30-45 minutes ahead of time.

What time of year are we talking about?

re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

I'd do the Fantasmic dinner. The food at Chef Mickey's is good but not good enough (in my book) to miss out on a chance at watching Fantasmic after having a nice dinner. Besides....who knows how long Fantasmic is going to be around. Chef Mickey's will be there for a while. Have a wonderful time!

re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

I did not care for the dinner package for Fantasmic and to me Fantasmic is just OK. I would agree that if you let the folks at Chef Mickey's know it's someones birthday they may do something a little special. Who knows?

re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

It's a package at DHS to eat at either Mama Melrose's, Hollywood Brown Derby, and Hollywood and Vine and then get reserved seating for Fantasmic.

When you make your ADR, tell them you want the Fantasmic package and, after your meal, you'll also get a ticket for the reserved seating - so you can avoid the crowds.

re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

no, you can get special seats for fantasmic at disneyland and they give you a great dessert box and all you can drink. But no dinner, and theres no place called chief mickeys at disneyland.

Re: chef mickeys vs fantasmic dinner package?

Fantasmic is a great show to reserve tickets for and also eat dinner but its not even close to the expierence your young one is going to have at chief mickey's! I am a huge fantasmic fan and i never have needed to buy the dining package for it. My first trip to hollywood studios was also my first time seeing fantasmic on new years eve 2009 and even then i never had a problem that i had to buy the dining package. Chief mickey's is an amazing place to dine because your child will love the charecters and i know you will have a smile on your face when you see how he reacts and acts with the charecters.
