The decor is pretty good, food is ok (nothing amazing but by Disney standards - which I think are poor - T-Rex isn't bad) and service was excellent.
We ate at the bar though (walk up times were 45 minutes so we grabbed the next 2 seats at the bar) rather than in the restaurant itself (the bar is on one side of the restaurant). I think it helped having the barmen there all the time as you didn't haveto try and flag down a passing waiter/waitress.
The meteor shower was a bit odd. If I didn't know what it was meant to be I'd never have guessed. It was just a noise and the odd flashing light. The dinosaurs are pretty cool though and it's really impressive outside.
I'd happily go back to T-Rex.

We were down last week and went there. It was pretty cool. It's basically just like the Rainforest Cafe if you've ever been to one of those. The kids were a little scared at first (ages 4 & 2) since it's pretty dark and noisy, but once they were there for a little while they were ok. Food was ok, the kids just had pizza and I had some kind of chicken/pasta dish. I would go there again. I missed the meteor shower somehow though. Have fun!

Re: Any one been to t-rex yet???
Ate here in April. LOVED it! DH and I split the Boneyard Buffet it was very good. You get 1/2 slab of ribs, 1/2 chicken + 2 (or 3?) sides. Cost for it was $26.00~~worth every penny. They also have a kid's menu (if you need one). We'll be going back again in July....
Hope that helps.
I'd say it's along the same lines as the Rainforest Cafe but fer better - better food, better servce, better decor/theming and better atmosphere.
I hate Rainforest Cafes but enjoyed T-Rex.
I do think it's better decor, but I love dinosaurs, so maybe that's a little biased, lol. But it seemed the exact same thing to me, just with dinosaurs (having a "show" every 1/2 hour or so, dim lighting, similar scenery, big fish tank, etc). I'm trying to remember what the food and service was like at Rainforest since the last time I was there was probably on our last trip to WDW (7 years ago!) but I don't remember having a bad experience there or anything. So in comparing the two, I would say I liked T-Rex better just because of the dinousaur decor, the rest I'd put on about the same level. But that's just me, so take what you want from that, lol!
Yes and we loved it .. in fact we went twice on our last trip. The kids really loved looking at all the Dino's ! We got the Boneyard Buffet and there was tons of food. It was enough for me and my 2 four year olds.

We went last Nov, and I really enjoyed it. Have been to RC several times, and T-Rex was very similar. To me, the decor was close to RC, but better done, and the dinos rocked. We sat in the Ice Cave, and it was cool, with the changing colors, etc. Meteor shower was fun. It was pretty loud, but so is RC. Also, the food was pretty good, imo. I got Ahi tuna (soooo good!) and a salad, but also shared the nachos with family.
We were thinking we might not going, but we really want to. But, now that I heard about the Boneyard Buffet it sounds like I might be able to afford it!
I was wondering if you could go to the "Build a Dino" store w/o going to the restaurant.
What about reservations? Don't you have to do those differently or can you call it in?
My son LOVES dinosaurs!!! He would be SOOOOOO happy to eat there!

Re: Any one been to t-rex yet???
Hope you enjoy your T-Rex experience!!! As I said B4, we LOVED our visit. When I called Disney to make our reservations, I was told I had to call the restaurant DIRECTLY! This is due to the fact, it is NOT Disney owned.
Here is the number: (407) 828-8739.
IF you DO eat there, please post and let me know how you liked it?
Also, someone else asked about doing Build A Dino without eating~~I believe you CAN do that. The 1st time we visited the restaurant, we just walked in to check it out. The CM told us to feel free to shop and visit the Build A Dino area as well!
Hope this helps everyone~~

Yes - definitely!
You can walk straight in past the desk and into the gift shop (on the right hand side) without eating (the restaurant is on the left hand side and then opens out behind the shop).
The Build a Dino thing is in the gift shop and is open to everyone, not just diners.
You'll see loads of people with Dino's - heads and tails hanging out of their "cage" packing boxes. They look great!
