We love to "window" shop in the Art of Disney store. There are some really beautiful things in there.

Have a great time!

Enjoy your trip!

Nice one Pluto27! I will look it up... does anyone know off hand if this is still there?

Disnyelovin- I would love to browse Art of Disney too! Thanks!

Also saw they Build your own remote control race car place... having 2 boys this looks way cool BUT the car starts at $55!! Is it worth it?? WOw that is real steep. I want to check it out but not sure I want to cough up that much $$. We may have to avoid it all together so I don't get tempted.

Also saw the newest Disney Park bag Design by Dooney & bourke. Liking the wristlet! Can I get that DTD? Maybe in the big Disney store saw I use my Disney Visa CArd discount!!??

Re: Your favorite things to do Downtown

The Magic store is still there.

Ridemakerz may not be there for much longer. They only took up a smaller area in the old Virgin store. They only came in for a limited time.

Re: Your favorite things to do Downtown

Since DTD is our first thing we do in WDW other than checking into the resort our favorite thing is, in the middle of shopping, to simply find a nice quiet (quietish, it is Disney lol) and sit back, relax and look around. This is just time for us to relax and realize we are finally in WDW.

My favorite thing to do in DTD is shopping at Arribas Brothers. Love that crystal.

My fav thing about DTD in it's current state is Raglin Road. Lively atmosphere, girls dancing on tables, and only a short boat ride from my home resort of Saratoga Springs. I also like the little green space along the water down by Wolfgangs. PI was my fav thing. Party all night, on a spinning dance floor, at mannequins, with girls from every country (but mostly brazil or japan. Lol). Or celebrate the spirit of adventure with a hardy "KUNGA-LOOSH" @ the AC.

Sadly pleasure island has left us, but with a little pixie dust, some of what made PI so special could come back at Hyperion Wharf. For example, I heard of an alleged trolly system that will shuttle guests around the facility thus connecting the 3 areas of attraction at DTD, an addition that is truly needed. The concept art (below) is obviously to attract would-be tenants of the new shopping, restaurant & hopefully bar/club spaces. The lighting design has some great possibilities (transitions, sound & pyro effects) that could include a new backstory for the wharf. As long as there are still places aimed at an adult clientele I think the "bold new vision" could be a success.

Re: Your favorite things to do Downtown

Characters of Flight is a must! We did this last year at night and it was awesome. I am going to do it again next week in the daylight. I also recommend Ghiradelli's and Rain forest cafe.

Re: Your favorite things to do Downtown

Our favorite thing to do was visiting the Adventurer's Club! *sad* Next on the list was Disney Quest we spent nearly a day there on our honeymoon and it rocked! Loved the VR games, even the kid oriented ones. Oh and we liked Bongos Cuban Cafe for food I still remember the savory plantains yumm!

Can't wait to check out all of the newer places you are all talking about!!!

Re: Your favorite things to do Downtown

We always enjoyed taking the water taxi and stopping at Ghirardelli's for an ice cream. We also just love to window shop and figure out what we will go back and buy on our last day.
