Hey downtown experts!
My family is going to WDW in sept. Grandma is watching the kids so my wife and I can celebrate our 6 wedding anniversary. We are in our early thirties. Never been downtown. Anyone have any ideas? What does downtown have to offer besides la nouba? We are taking the family to that a different night.

Loads!!
Some great stores to enjoy a little retail therapy, some good restaurants, some good bars, boat rental, a tethered balloon ride, an interactive indoor "theme park", outdoor entertainment, a transport hub, a movie theater and lots more!
What interests you?

Pick a still night for the balloon too as only a very slight wind will shut it down.
Have fun!!

Re: Hey downtown experts!
Most of the Downtown restaurants take the dining plan now, including Rainforest and T-Rex. This is new for this year.
For two adults, I'd recommend Raglan Road, House of Blues, Bongos, or Fultun's Crab House. All are on the dining plan!
There is also DisneyQuest, which is sortof like a Chuck E. Cheese on Steroids. If you have water parks and more on your ticket, admission is free.
They also have a Dine In AMC theater.
Bowling is coming, not sure when it opens though. I love Downtown, it's a great break from the parks.

I would start off with dinner at fultons around 6. Afterwards, stroll thru the shops, grab a sundae from the ghirardelhi shop, and then grab a boat to port orleans afterwards. The river roost lounge is a great little bar and the boat ride along the sassagoula is beautiful! Plus, most nights, yee haw bob performs at port orleans riverside--he is a MUST SEE, and best off all its a free show

Just a heads up, the Characters in Flight balloon is no longer there and it hasn't been announced as to weather or not it's coming back. This really upsets me because on our last trip we wanted to do it but it was grounded due to wind. We were hoping to do it on our first day of our next trip in December. I'm hoping they bring it back before then.

The company who runs it took them all down for inspection after an accident oversees. I also didn't ride it on our last trip and wanted to this time, but if they aren't routinely inspected I'd rather not ride it than be the next accident
