Here is an article from USA Today, that has mentioned about the Original Theatrical Release versions of Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return Of The Jedi coming to DVD.

Re: Attention to all old hardcore Star Wars fans...

No thanks. I have been in love with Star Wars since I was a child and have read every book and seen every movie and TV show as well as heard every song but I love the reworked versions a LOT more than the original. I just happen to be the type of SW fan that likes the really fine details. I love to know what the "side" characters are like. Tales from Mos Eisley and Tales from Jabba's Palace are two of my favorite SW books because they go into detail about all the characters in the background that you see in the movies. When he edited the movies for release on DVD he added some of the details into them that I was waiting for. I was really hoping to see something of Mara Jade in the re release of the originals. Just a hint of her would have been cool. Like maybe a young redhead that in one scene is called "Mara" by another side character. Just so you would know it was her. Or how about in Episode 3 a scene could have been added to include a very young Han Solo kid. I just like the extra stuff I guess.

I just got the individual Star Wars DVD's in the mail today. They are my birthday presents from my sister who pre-ordered them on Amazon.

I haven't watched them yet. But I plan on watching them this week. These DVD's have both 2004 Version and the original theatrical versions that were shown in theaters.

Here is some details of the Star Wars DVD's I got in the mail:

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
Disc 1: 2004 DVD Version
Disc 2: 1977 Original Theatrical Release Version

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Disc 1: 2004 DVD Version
Disc 2: 1980 Original Theatrical Release Version

Star Wars Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi
Disc 1: 2004 DVD Version
Disc 2: 1983 Original Theatrical Release Version

Anyway, I'm glad that I now own both versions of The Star Wars Trilogy on DVD.

Re: Attention to all old hardcore Star Wars fans...

I got them in the mail and I order them from Amazon also. As of right now I allready watched the 2004 " A New Hope " > Since today and tomorrrow are my days off I saved the 1977,1980,1983 for these days The versions without the extra are also just like they were in the Cinema. What I mean is when the 1977 Star Wars movie came to video in 1981 or around that time they added " A New Hope " to the opening of the film. Plus a few minor things were added and taken away away from the films threw the 80's and 90's, but they are so small that many people don't notice. I mean it's nothing like the added stuff in the 1977 versions.

There is a website that I saw a couple of day ago that tells all about the added stuff and then when the added stuff was taken away threw the 80's and 90's and if I can find it I will post the link. It will explain it better than I can
