Clearwater beach

For those of you that have been to or that live near Clearwater Beach...

Where is the best place to go at Clearwater Beach? I mean, there seems to be a LOT of beach. What we are looking for is an area that has lots of gift shops and a few things to do. We're not too worried about crowd sizes. So would the Peir 60 area be good?

Re: Clearwater beach

hey goofy dad. i live in pinellas county (w/ clearwater beach). yes peir 60 is one of the best places for food and shops, traffic is terrible at best w/ lots and lots of construction. Frenchy's and friendly's are great places to eat and not to expensive.there are shops and resteraunts north and south of the pier/marina area.
if you are going to be moving up and down the beach some check out johns pass at madeira beach (about 12 miles south) lots of shops and a pretty beach. Pass a grill is about 20 miles south of clearwater beach and is a good example of old florida w/ the best food on the beach, but the water is not that pretty.
if you have any more questions give me a pm and i will be able to answer them.
have fun on your trip.

Re: Clearwater beach

Cool thanks.

As for the water not being too nice, that's okay. I would love to take the family to somewhere that has crystal clear water but in order to do that we would have to drive about 4 hours South. Not too good.
