I went to the Disney store to buy Disney Dollars for Christmas and was told they do not sell them anymore only the gift cards. For children the dollars mean so much more than the gift cards. Has anyone tried to buy them at the Disney stores? I plan on looking around WDW. Does anyone know if the sell them there?

Theu'll honor Disney Dollars that are already out there, won't they? I've been sitting on some that were given to me as a gift several months ago. I was planning to use them next year.

They will honor them. You just can't purchase them at the Disney store. I was hoping that they still sold them at WDW. I think the children would like them more than the gift cards.

I don't know the answer to this question, but I can tell you that my kids TOTALLY get the idea of gift cards. (they're 13 and 8) LOL They will dance around and guard the things like they're from the mint. They would be afraid to spend the disney dollars because they love to "save" disney stuff. The number of napkins, park maps, plastic drink stix, etc prove that. LOL

That's funny...I was planning to save one of the $1 Disney Dollars for my scrapbook!

LOL At least they aren't alone. We have several plastic dolphins that hang off the kids glasses at Coral Reef. We have plastic stix from different restaurants that have the earful tower, etc. We have enough plastic bags from the parks to open our own store...I had to stop the hubby and son the other day from pulling a disney cruise line bag from the Walmart recycle bin. sigh We even have a big cardboard box of "disney" trash that the kids and hubby can't bear to throw away. Disney Dollars would not get spent.

My grandchildren are still very young, 7,5,4,3. If they pick up their toys, share etc. I like to give them a disney dollar. I know that some of that should be expected but I am their grandmother. Will look in WDW to see if they still sell them.

We used visa gift cards this past trip. My 9 & 5 year old both had their own card. This kept things so super easy for me! No more keeping track of which kid had how much $$ left. They totally get the debit card thing. They actually thought it fun to scan their cards in at the register to pay. Using the visa gift/debit card was excellent! ANd if they did not spend all of their balance (which they did) I knew they could take it home and use it anywhere! I carried the cards around and having 2 cards was much easier then cash & change. I knew how much each kid had left all of the time!
I recommend it highly!

Hilarious. My BFF (also my college roommate) came to visit a few weeks ago and we looked through college photo albums. Tucked in the album were Mickey and Pluto stickers, maps from our trip, and scribbled words and phrases that instantly brought back where we were when things happened. Apparently there was a very hot CM named Rune at the Norwegian bakery, because his name shows up 6 times in the comments.
