    How rude!
This happened to the extreme on the 40th anniversary. It was so packed you couldn't take a step in any direction. Very scary. We were actually stuck in the crowd unable to go anywhere for about 20 minutes after Wishes.

My sister was there during the 40th wishes (I left the day before to avoid the massive crowds). She got pulled apart from her 4 yr old and was hysterical as it was so crowded and no one would move to allow her to look for him. Luckily, Disney CM are awesome and grabbed him till they were able to find her.

I was there during Celebration V in 2010 (for the Star Tours shutdown)...while most of the night was fantastic, there were many instances where grown people stepped over or didn't make allowances for my child. They stepped over her, stole her "view", or generally looked down at a child being involved in the festivities.

For months it perturbed me, until I realized, obsessed fans will be fans. For every 5 great experience we had that night, we had 1 bad one.

Most the people in Vegas offering seats were foreign too. Makes me disappointed in Americans that we haven't taught this common courtesy.

Just so you know - sometimes people have health problems that aren't evident.

I'm 6'-4" tall, 260lb; aside from carrying a few extra pounds, I look healthy and perfectly able to stand. But I'm not; I have knee and back issues. I can walk around all day in the parks, but standing still for any length of time hurts badly. I don't watch parades because of this, and I tend to lean heavily on something whenever I'm in attraction queues to minimize the pain. By the end of the day, I'm generally popping ibuprofen like candy to fight the aches and pains, despite the steps I take during the day to avoid it.

I also rent a car on every trip, no matter where I'm staying, on-site or off, and I use it to go pretty much everywhere. I avoid the buses like the plague, and rarely get on one these days, except at Ft Wilderness, where you can't get from the parking area to the Settlement without one.

So no, I don't stand up and offer my seat to others who may or may not need it, because I need it. If I get on a bus that has no seats available, I stand, despite the pain, and I don't complain or give dirty looks to the perfectly healthy 5-year olds who would fit fine on Mommy's lap and free up a seat for me; they had the seat first, it's theirs.

This is a subject that comes up a lot on TD. I think everyone needs to keep in mind that not all physical problems are visible.

I have a back problem that acts up sometimes and can be so painful I have trouble standing and walking. It will attack suddenly and then last for hours or days. This happened to me at AK on our last trip and we had to severely limit our movement in the park, walking slowly and taking lots of breaks so I could sit down. I look perfectly healthy, so it's not obvious. (In the future I will be bringing a cane and leaving it in the car just in case this happens again.)

Sure, there are a lot of rude people who have no manners, but you don't always know what's really going on with everyone. If you see someone on a scooter get up and walk, that doesn't mean that person is without a physical problem that makes getting around the parks difficult. Same goes for an adult sitting on a crowded bus. There's no way of knowing sometimes.

Thanks for sharing. No one's disputing the fact that people have health problems unbeknown to others. However, that's not ALWAYS the case.

The point is that nobody can tell so let's not judge.

Time to get the thread back in track and talk about pet hates and dislikes at the Disney parks.

I hate that parks close so early outside of EMH. I love returning to a park after an offsite meal and strolling round to walk our dinner off.

Often though, it's not worth it as the park's not open long enough.

Me too. Enforced fast pass return times must mean better regulation of lines and wait times. That's a very good thing as far as I'm concerned.

I would hate people turning up late when they have a fast pass so glad to hear they are enforcing this rule. It is one of my pet peeves is people without any time keeping skills
