Hess Gas Station - Magic Kingdom

Effective August 21 the Hess Station at the Disney Car Care Center (Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza area) will close for extensive refurbishment for approximately 3 months. Once it reopens, a brand-new structure will house 4000 square feet of merchandise and food & beverage space enhanced by a unique theme approved by Walt Disney Imagineering. During the construction period, the Disney Car Care Center and Alamo Car Rental will continue to operate. The station is tentatively planned to reopen by Thanksgiving.

I would appreciate anyone that is going to WDW in November (around the middle of the month) getting pics of this Hess after it reopens. I know it sounds stupid but I would love to see this and I dont want to have to wait until our trip next year. Like I said, I know it sounds stupid but I have never seen a "gas station" with a theme before. Leave it to Disney.

The building is very similar to the one at DTD and is pretty well put up already, they are working on the outside now.

If the one I am thinking about being outside DTD then it is just a normal gas station convenience store. I was under the impression that it was going to be something cool and themed.

I thought it was going to be themed or something. The one near DownTown Disney isn't themed.

Are there any other places to get as inside WDW? We'll need to gas up the car before we head back home and I think that's the station I usually go to. Now what do I do?!!

I thought I asked this question in this thread, but it's not here, so maybe I just thought about doing it. Senior moment!

So here it is. If the Hess station is closed, is there another place to get gas inside WDW? Is that what the Disney Car Care Center is? And if so, where is it located?

Ok to clear this up.

The building is painted as a roadmap on the entrance side is the NYC area, the road side is Most of FL.

The station is progressing pretty well and should be open before Thanksgiving.

Currently the only gas station on Disney Property that is closed is The MK Hess station at the Car care center. You can still purchase gas at the other 2 Hess Gas stations on Disney Property.

Boardwalk/MGM Hess Station is located at the main entrance to the Boardwalk resort (Buena Vista drive and Epcot Resorts drive)

DTD Hess station is located across the street from the Pleasure Island bus stops also on Buena Vista Drive about 6 miles from the MGM Hess station.

CA Judgeing by your countdown I think they will all be operational when you are here.

The new station is up and running. The thing is huge with the bus service facility behind the station. I still rememember going to one of the stations looking for gum. We were told by the attendant, No gum at Disney. What? No Gum at Disney, she kept telling my wife in a spanish accent. We only needed it to chew for a few minutes to put the stroller wheel back on the stroller for our daughter. She was about 2-3 at the time. So we then looked around and found taffy and asked. They dont sell chewing gum or bubble gum at Disney since so many people and kids dont know how to throw it away properly.

we still laugh about it to this day about no gum at Disney.

ewwwwwwww... I am sooooo glad they don't sell gum at Disney! Who knows how disguisting the park would get!!!??? I usually bring gum along with me though... only, I use a trash can!

I'm so thrilled that Disney dose not sell gum or allow it in the parks. I personly think gum is disusting espcialy when people just put it were ever they feel like it instead of of wrapping it up in a tisue and throwing it way. There have been to may time that I have stepped in gum that someone carelessly throw on the floor.
