I have read that there are several camera shops in Ecot, MK, etc where you can download your digital pictures onto a CD. Has anyone done this? Where did they do it? I am assuming you must buy their cd so how much is it? Did it take long?
Any information you all can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
It does not take to long to download the pictures. I was there in the off-season and it just took a few minutes.
You can download to a CD at .......
Exposition hall at the Magic Kingdom ( near the entrance )
Epcot's Camera Center, Epcot ( at the entrance)
The Darkroom, at MGM Disney Studios
Garden Gate Gifts , at the Animal Kingdom , (entrance Plaza)

do you remember about how much is cost you? We have a portable printer...but if it's not too expensive then we could just save to disk when our card gets full.

I called the place in epcot and it is about $13 including the CD. He said it was the same price at all the shops. I think it is a bargain for the peace of mind!
You can do what I just did... (Cool timing ) I bought a portable CD-R/DVD burner today that is mainly for copying photo memory cards to cd's but it can also be used with a tv (not included) to view the photo CD's or view DVD's. Now I can take all the pictures I want and just burn them to disks. I'm going to take this to WDW this October and just burn my pictures to disk each night. I can get about 2400 pictures on one CD so I should have plenty of room.

A great idea, how much does one of these babies cost. How big are they? To be honest though, I would probably just use Disney sevices. Not a very technical person and I wouldn't want to spend a ton of time with this on vacation. Plus, with two 4 year olds who don't understand why they can't pack their entire bedroom, luggage space is precious!
Plus, I can do this on my computer at home.
The coolest thing about this burner is that it has a Lithium Ion attatchable battery. I can take it with me into the parks and copy right there the moment my wife's, daughters, or my card is full. it is only about as big as a CD case is wide and only a tad longer. I have two 2GB cards but my wife and daughter only have a 512MB card each. (their choice, not mine)

Thanks for the info, both ideas sound great. I am not to much of a techie, sometimes new items confound me easily. Son however, 14yrs old, seems like he was born with tech stuff in his hand. I will be giving both a great deal of thought. I had originally thought I would just buy one memory card for each day we plan to be there. The burner may be cheaper in the long run and I have no idea what I would do with all those memory cards after the trip.

For the photographers out there (which at any Disney park should be ALL of you!)...
Just wanted to give you a heads up that they are coming out with 4.0GB cards for professional photographers. I have a 2.0GB chip now, and shooting RAW (completely uncompressed) I can take about 280 pictures with that (and most people have little reason to shoot uncompressed). If you make sure you are in the JPEG Medium setting, which is useful for most applications and settings, you can take close to 2,000 pictures on one card. If I need more than that, I would rather carry around cards for my camera than CD's.
There's my two cents, use it if you like it, don't if you don't

Today I sold the new portable burner I recently bought to my brother. (self proclaimed proffesional photographer. Long story. ) Now I have bought a 5GB photo wallet from Ebay. Its smaller than the burner, it holds more than 7.5 times as one CD does, and it supports all media card types except xD cards, AND it costs less than two 1GB cards and holds 5 times as much as 1 card.
I actually bid on the item and got it for the initial starting price of $18.95. That is less than the cost of one 1GB card. Try it, and even if it goes all the way to $47.50, the "buy it now" price, it is still worth it.
