My family and I visit Disney World ever 2 or 3 years since I was 4 yrs old. I am 25 now with two toddlers and I have learned a few things about Disney over the years. I have a lot of people ask me when the best time is to go and the first thing I tell thing it depends on you. I am a full time student in college with 2 young children so I have to decide what the best time is for my family. Well as for my family and I the week of Thanksgiving is the best. We all have off and don't have to miss any school and very little work. We usually check in the Friday before Thanksgiving and check out the next Friday. There are two festivals the week before we check in so it is pretty slow until about two days before Thanksgiving. Most people don't want to miss work so they don't leave and checkin until then. I wish I could give you a time of year when you can go a week and it be slow the whole time but there isn't a time that I have been that at least a few days are busy. I hope this helped some.

We have had a lot of success going the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend. We usually arrive on Thursday stay for 9 days and leave the Friday of the holiday weekend. The crowds are pretty light, the weather great, and everything id starting to ramp up for the summer season so there are plenty of parades, shows, and late nights. It is also the Flower and Garden Festival season to boot. We are even thinking of taking the kids out of school to do it one more time. We are also looking at some dates in Nov to take advantage of days off from school.

i would agree that in May or September is the best times either before or after Memorial or Labor day....

One day in Disney is better than none !!! 25 trips and counting to WDW EW Contemp. 83, Contemp. 84, Ft. Wilderness 85 EW Contemp. 86,Class trip 86, Oak Island Cove 02, Radisson 03, Radisson 03, POR 04, Radisson 04 Renaissance Inn 04, POR 2\05, POP 3\05, POR 06, POR 07, POR 08, AKL 10\08, AKL 3\09, Jambo House 5\09........ too many to list now :-)
September in Florida is killer hot, but the crowds at WDW are low. Personally, I couldn't survive that kind of heat in the parks.
I think the best time to go is in January and early February. Mild weather and low crowds = a perfect WDW trip.

This is a conversation my wife and I just had. We went last year at this time. We had a great time but ran into the baseball managers meetings. I made things a little crowded but not too bad. We decided that we would take my daughter out of 2nd grade for a week after Labor day and go then. I know it's going to be hot but we will just stay hydrated and take breaks to the pool at the Poly.
January and February are great times too.

The best time of year to go is anytime you can go! HA! We have never been able to go when the parks are not crowded but we still have a wonderful time! We have gone twice during 4th of July, once during Memorial Day and our most amazing trip- Christmas at Disney! Honestly, I would take the crowds during the holidays over the heat of the summer anyday! Sure, the parks are crowded but if you plan your trip wisely, you can have the time of your life! We really enjoy being at the parks late at night so the holidays work out great for us. Honestly, I can't imagine being there when the Magic Kingdom closes at 7:00. I understand that with less people at the parks you can do things faster but we really enjoy the parks late at night.

We go the Wednesday before Ash Wendsday and come home on Ash Wednesday. Since we are Louisiana, we have a few days off but we find taking the kids out for 3 days is well worth the short lines and small crowds. I have also heard that the week of Presidents week is great also but make sure it does not overlap Mardi Gras.

Of all of the times we have gone I would have to say that the first week of May was the best. Low crowds, not too hot but warm enough to enjoy the water parks and to not have to keep switching between jeans and shorts.
For Free Dining, September is good if you can stand the heat. Everyone is back to school and the crowds are pretty low.
