Well, we've been two times with no crowd issues. 1st time was the first week of May then the last week of April. Not that there was zero line ups, but they were short enough to not get on my nerves. We are going back again April 20-30/09. I can hardly wait.
We usually go at the end of September, beginning of October which is great for people who dont like queing.
We're going the end of December, beginning of January next year. Its probably going to be a huge shock from what were used to, but we're thinking about taking advantage of the magic hours and fast past tickets.
We are going at the end of the first week into the second week of Nov. I hope that this list is accurate about the crowds and the weather b/c it sounds perfect for us. does anyone know when the lights go on for X-mas? also we went in the middle of October in 2007 and it was not bad at all it however was in the 90's a bit to hot especially for the kids. The only place a little more crowded was Epcot they had the wine tasting.

Life's in limbo for me right now, but I'm vacillating between planning a trip in May (my bday is over Memorial Day weekend, which doesn't look like good timing) and during early November (which looks like a great time). Of course, if I win the lotto tonight, I could do both. (Now, did I buy a ticket???)

We visited Disney 1-15 thru 1-19 the crowds were unbelievable!
Lines on the most popular rides were at least 60 min. If you didn't get a fast pass by 12:30 you would not be able to get one. When you were lucky enough to get a Fast Pass, your return time was 3 hrs! I have been to Disney every year, usually going in Oct or Nov
and this year I thought I'd try Jan! Never again.
I was told that in Jan Disney invites citizens from Brazil to visit Disney. There were a zillion Brazilians ! I hear that Disney does the same in Feb, but this time invites the Brits!
We took some First Time Disney guests w/ us and before hand I told them we would probably have little or no lines! Not a good first experience for them!

The weekend you went was Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, so that could account for huge crowds.

we were there the first week of december last year, and only had to use a fast pass thrice for test track and for soarin', and of course toy story mania
yes you read that right, meaning we walked right onto rockin rollercoaster, tower of terror, buzz lightyear, misson space, finding nemo, splash moutian, etc...
the weather was all over the place, first few days, we wore (after buying sweaters, and were from canada, i can deal with cold) as it was in the 40's buy the end of the week it was 77-78.
it was very nice walking down main street, without crashing into people who stop for no reason, but still had people to talk to
the saturday of our trip they were filming the christmas parade, so it was very busy, but walking accross the main circle in front of the castle we happened to see and meet the imigation movers, and saw hanna montana
i would for sure go that week again, the lights were all out, it was beautiful

I have been down at several different times of the year and my family and I prefer the last two weeks of sept thru the first week of oct. Yes it is hot..but you get the opportunity to try the waterparks and pools without the crowds. I like to get the most for my time and money...so this is the time we like to go. We generally are able to walk right onto any ride..(expedition everest we got fast passes for.) We have a 6 year old and a 19 mos old. It is nice to be able to make it quickly through several rides before the kids have a melt down...easier on transportation..cheaper..what is not to like??? We like it enough that we take our son out of school for it and that is saying something!!!
I love the first week in Dec. The crowds usually aren't too bad, and all the Christmas stuff is out.

It was a few of the CM that told us about Jan & Feb Having "special offers" for those in Brazil and in GB.
I'll be at DW the first week of Nov. My usual time in the 3rd week of Nov. I don't expect that it'll be a large crowd, but there will only be my granddaughter and myself and that makes moving about a bit easier, not too many people to keep track of.
Whatever, Disney is still a magical experience

We're changing our next trip to the last week of September for the first time. We usually go in mid October. I've heard that it is even slower during the end of September than it is in October. I hope this is true. The first time we went it was almost walk on on every ride but it has gotten steadily hotter and more crowded each time we have been since. I'm hoping it may be back to the way it was the 1st time we went. Unfortunately I think the "Free DDP" may amp up the crowds.
