Alright my fellow Disney Experts, I need a little help here. Due to an unexpected event (We found out my wife is expecting), we had to cancel our 2010 Disney vacation. we have agreed to go back with the whole family next summer (July 2011). When can I start looking at rates and potentially booking for July 2011? Thanks in advance for the input gang!

Disney does most of their scheduling about 6 months out. That being said, you can book a trip 365 days in advance but you will have to wait to book dining, shows, tours, etc...
And if you're flying it will be 333 days (where did they get that number???) out for flight times with all airlines but SW who only go out 6 months in advance.
Thanks for the info....we had to cancel our 2010 trip, too, and I am cautiously optimistic about being able to go in 2011. I am heartbroken as the date we were supposed to leave approaches.......do I hear anyone crying with me?

We've been there with that one too. We just got back from our first WDW trip in October 2005 and on Christmas night 2005 I was heading back from my grandmothers (No Little Red Riding Hood jokes... ) in Louisville, KY when I had a car wreck. That, plus my wife's car engine breaking down forced us to cancel our plans for the WDW trip we had planned for the following October. It stinks. As the day we planned to leave came closer it was awful. And the whole week we just sat and moped around griping about how we were supposed to be in WDW right then.
My deepest sympathies to you, GOOfyDad! This did make me think of somehing to mention to those planning a trip. I had everything reserved in advance: a trundle-bed room in Aligator Bayou at the POR, (essential for those needing five in a room on the cheap) and all our dinner reservations, including CRT and the Canadian restaraunt in Epcot, which is hard to get reservations for. When I called to cancel, the reservationist made the remark that someone would be very happy to get that table we just had to give up. So, if anyone is planning a trip, and was not able to get the reservations they wanted, this is a good reminder to get your name on a waiting list, or call back from time to time. To whomever sits at our dinner tables during Easter break instead of us - ENJOY and feel blessed to be there!!
