Magical Express Timing

Can anyone please give me an estimate of how long it takes after you land at MCO to arrive at your resort? I imagine it is somewhat unpredictable since one bus makes multiple stops, but I would love to hear about your experiences. The reason I am asking is to try and determine whether we can make a dinner reservation or not and how long after we arrive at MCO would the reservation need to be.

Our flight arrives at 5:05. Would we be safe in making an 8 pm reservation? 7:30? Thanks for your help!

Re: Magical Express Timing

I say its about an hour to an hour and a half from the time your plane lands until you get to your resort. Thats been my experience anyway.

Re: Magical Express Timing

Based on your scenario it will probably be a tight squeeze. We have always arrived in the morning and never have had to really wait long, but have heard stories of longer lines as waits later in the day. Also remember you need to calculate time to check in and drop your bags in your room. A lot will depend on where you are staying and where your reservations are. Good Luck

Re: Magical Express Timing

On our last trip our flight got in around 4:30 and we didn't get to the YC until around 6:15. However we were in Epcot by 7:00 and having a counter serve meal by 8:00.

I would book the latest dinner reservation you can get that way you won't stress as much about making it. You also need to take into consideration the time it takes to get from your resort to whereever your planning dinner.

We thought about booking dinner our first night at our hotel, that way once you arrive from the airport you don't have to worry about transportation to dinner. Or you can just have a Counter serve meal whenever you arrive.

Although we don't use the Magical Express, we always grab a counter service meal on our first night.

That way, there's no hurry, no worries and no stress. We just get to the hotel, rest up for a bit, freshen up and then head to DTD where we usually end up having a hot dog.

On our last trip we used our "other TS credit" for a character breakfast on our departure day. It made leaving a little easier! We stayed at the YC so we had b'fast at the Cape May Cafe, it was very nice. We also didn't have to buy a park ticket for the day.

Smile Re: Magical Express Timing

On our last trip we arrived at the airport probably around noonish and the line for the magical express was very long. It took us about an hour and a half to 2 hours just to wait in line. We had a dining reservation and had to cancel because we ran over. I am sure it depends on the time you are arriving also. I cant wait to go back again this year!
