Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

We are thinking of booking dinner here on the day we arrive.
Has anyone had dinner here, how is the food?
Is this worth 2 TS credits?
Do you think this is a good way to kick off our trip or would it be too much for the first night?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

We did the dinner on our last trip. I wasn't impressed with the food for dinner (or breakfast) but then I don't think you go to CRT for the food - you go for the experience. My girls loved it, however they were disappointed that the Fairy Godmother didn't autograph or even visit the tables like the mice do (mice don't autograph either, FG kindof puts on a show) - well disappointed is an understatement, more on the verge of tears! I ended up taking the 8x10 picture we brought to the hostess and asked her to take it out of sight and have someone autograph it for my daughters. She was happy to do this so that was a relief. I wish I would have known all this ahead of time so I could prepare my daughters that they get to see the FG, not actually meet her tho.

They've changed it , now you get to meet the Princesses at all three meals. We wouldn't have considered it if it was only the FG.

What did you eat at the dinner? Was there an appitizer for adults or only the kids? How was the dessert? Would you order the special Glass slipper dessert instead?

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

I didn't know they changed it. So much changes when I'm not paying attention! I just looked at the menu online - is it possible entrees changed b/c they don't look familiar - but if it didn't change I would guess I had the pasta and dh had either the prime rib or the lamb - I really can't remember. I'm pretty sure adults were served a salad and the girls were served raw veggies. I know the girls had the icecream sundaes and we didn't order the Glass Slipper dessert. Sorry I'm not much help - I guess that I was that unimpressed with the food that I didn't bother remembering it! lol

My thought on whether it is worth 2 TS credits... If you've eaten another meal at CRT and you won't be seeing a different character (like the FG and mice), personally I would go to Akershush or 1900 Park Fare and only spend 1 TS credit. But if Kylie is dying to eat at the castle or loves the princesses that much, then I'd do CRT b/c then it'd be worth it.

Note: If you haven't had dinner at 1900 Park Fare with the step-sisters, you MUST! OMG the step-sisters are hilarious!!!!!

We have not had any meals at the castle before, we love b'fast at Crystal Palace (its one of our traditions since my older DD's were kylies age!). DH loves going into the park before it opens and we didn't want to break tradition on our last trip. However this time we are considering doing Crystal Palace for b'fast and CRT for dinner (since they added the princesses).

On our last trip we planned Kylie's birthday dinner for 1900. We had a blast! Kylie got to be the first to dance with Prince Charming!!! She was on cloud-nine for the rest of the trip. She even dreamed about him, she was talking in her sleep, saying "MY Prince".

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

"My Prince", that's priceless!!! On our first trip, DH danced with one of the step-sisters and the last trip DD8 said something to one of the step-sisters and she literally yelled across the room to the other sister, who came over to our table and they got into a huge "fight" over what DD8 said, causing the stepmother to come over and drag both stepsister off by the ears, then coming back to have a "word" with DD8!!!! It was hilarious!!!!

If you haven't had a meal at CRT, then you must!!! Kylie has to do that! Expect the food to be not so great and if it is, you're pleasantly surprised!!!

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

About three year ago we went for Breakfast. Chracters back then were, princesses and the fairy Godmother. The meal was fine... it wasn't fantastic but it wasn't bad either. It is very portion controlled. The 2 TS credits are because you get a free photo package (that you take with you as you leave your meal) and girls get magic wans and boys get swords. Walking up the castle stairs, looking out the castle windows (make sure you do this!), and having a meal in the ball room is just an experience not to miss (my opinion). There is a small "wish" ceremony that made the meal very magical. I like your idea of doing this at the begining of your trip... it will set the stage for the rest of the time you are there. Doing it early in your trip is wise because you won't feel worn out yet from all the autographs and photos with characters. If you do it at the end of your trip, seeing Cinderella may not be as exciting because more than likely you will have seen her around the park already.

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

On our last trip we saved MK for our second full day in Disney and we started the day with b'fast at Crystal Palace. It was awesome! It was Kylie's first time at Disney and she really didn't have any idea what to expect, so we started with Epcot (which she loved). Now that she's a seasoned veterine she can't wait to get to the MK!

We haven't book our air yet so I'm not sure when we will arrive, so I figure if we plan dinner at the Castle we will at least get the feel of the MK right away! Maybe we could catch Wishes after dinner and call it a night!

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

We were there on Halloween 2009 and the mice and FG were the only ones there for dinner at 5:30 pm. (and it was our first full day at Disney...arrived at 11pm night before) You get to have your picture take (actually 3 of them) with Cinderella before you go upstairs to eat...and you don't have to pay extra for the pictures like at other restaurants...they are part of the package here. The food was wonderful...and our server was great...he treated all of us like royality, and we were a party of 8 with 2 children 13 and 14 months old...the atmosphere is really cool!
As for is it worth the 2 dinner credits...to do it once is fun, however, we don't do it regularly when we go...we will not do it in October this year...we will wait until our granddaughters are older (like in the 6-10 year old range) and do it again! We like the character meals and this one is really nice but not woth our two credits everytime we go...if it is your first time and you have little ones by all means do it

Re: Cinderella's Royal Table - dinner?

Kylie will be turning 8 just before our trip. I think we will make this her Birthday Dinner!! Last year we had her Birthday Dinner at 1900 Park Fare and she got to be the first to dance with the Prince. That's going to be hard to beat! I think dinner in the castle just might do it!!
