Can anyone tell me when you have a base ticket, go in the morning to MK, can you leave the park to go back to the resort and then return later to the MK for the late night?

Yes you can leave and return, on the same day, to the same park. Even without a park hopper.
Of course if you have a park hopper you can go any where you wish. Including all four parks in the same day.

To answer your question... I believe you can come and go from the one park as many times you like!

THANKS!!! I wasn't sure since our up coming trip is split into two different vacations with different tickets, base tickets and hopper tickets, but that helps out a lot for my planning!!!!
