Hi there. We are 2 adults, one 16 year old and 8 year old twins staying in Polynesian Hotel for 3 weeks. We have a Disney Dining Plan in place but i am panicing that we wont have enough spending money. Please can anyone tell me if $6000 dollars will be enough or should i panic even more.

Tips -- 1) for table service meals (tips are not included in the dining plan) 2) Bell hops 3) Mousecleaning
Meals that are not included on dining plan the basic DDP is one counter service and one table service, you may wind up paying for one meal a day or you can use your snack credit for a light breakfast... sucha as yougurt or a muffin then you will not have the extra cost.
once these things are taken care of there is not too much else you need to worry about. Unless you decide to pay out of pocket for a special tour or show. Other unexpected things can happen too such as broken flip flops, (been there!) or other wardrobe malfunctions! I think you will have a very nice trip with the 6,000. If you are really stressed perhaps you can bring a credit card that you promise yourself only to use for emergency items/situations. Maybe having one with you to keep in your back pocket will calm your nerves. I personally think a $2000 week budget will work! Good luck!

Yep, have to agree you have more than enough money unless you really are big spenders and buy lots and lots of stuff. In our case I really don't spend $1000 once at Disney. For our last family trip, I took $1500 in travelers checks, I came home with nearly $200 left, this included the gas and food money for travel from Ohio and back, party of 5, 2 adults, one 21 yr old, one 19 yr old and one 15 yr old, basically all adults.
If you are really worried, get yourself some envelopes, divide the cash into one envelope per day, clearly marked. Put the envelopes in the safe and only take one out per day, making it easier to budget daily. Preset souvie money for the kids, either one total per child or a daily allowance.
As far as TIPS, I make an envelope for each tip occasion that I can plan for, ie table, mousekeeping etc. I estimate those tips and insert the money before I leave the house.

The biggest unexpected cost we found on our last trip were Adult beverages. At about $8.00 per cocktail (some were more - some were less) this can add up quickly. We would typically spend an extra $20 at the pool for drinks and snacks and some times another $20 at night for drinks. Also when we went we needed to by a heavier sweatshirt for DD (about $30).
All in all without paying too much attention to what we were spending I think we only spent about $800 extra for the week (including souvineers, snacks, drinks, breakfast & lunch at the airports and tips). You should be fine!
Don't worry - have a magical vacation!
