Disney just released the details for the dinning plan for 2011 and as of March 1, 2011 Le Cellier will be 2 TS credits for dinner and 1 TS credit for lunch!
We have a dinner reservation for December 1, 2010.
I don't think we would book dinner there for 2 credits though.
I guess if we felt we couldn't live without it we could try for lunch, but I bet those ADR's will be even harder to get than they are now!

First off congrats on the ADR!
2 credits? Wow, somehow that just does not seem right. I know that it is very popular, but their prices are not in the catagory to rate that.
Seems a bit unfair to me.
By the way, I love LeCellier, along with many others it seems.

Maybe it's the cynic in my but this seems a bit of a money grabbing ploy by Disney.
They know they can sell out Le Cellier so by making it 2 credits, they're saving themselves lots of meals as people will have 1 credit less to use elsewhere!
I agree with Rick. Although I haven't been to Le Cellier in a while, it was a long way off the standard of the signature places (with the possible exception of Brown Derby).
Even if they add a few frills to the food, the restaurant itself doesn't seem to match the standard of places like Artist Point, Jiko or Citricos.

I think what Disney is trying to do here is even out the number of DDP reservations to normal reservations a bit and at the same time hopefully open up some tables for guests who are not planning 6 months out. I can speak from experience it is almost impossible to get a table (for lunch or dinner) w/o booking it at least a few months out. I'm guessing they're just trying to perhaps persuade people to try different restaurants on the DDP.
That and frankly I like Le Cellier for quality and bang for my buck better than Yachtsman Steakhouse which I think is two credits (could be wrong I never use the DDP).

Waht ever the reason, not a happy camper about that change. I simply will go at lunch, love the restaurant. Then again, I would consider paying out of pocket and using the TS credit for one of my other fave 2 credit meals.

Yep - the Yachtsman as deffo 2 credits. I'm a big fan!
I guess it all comes down to personal choice really doesn't it. So many people love Le Cellier I'm sure it'll still be just as packed with people that are happy to pay 2 credits as it was with those paying 1.

This will be our second time having dinner here. We thought the restaurant was nice but a little cramped, we thought the food was good but not the best steak we had on that trip. The NY strip at Coral reef was more flavorful and cooked exactly to our liking, while we both had the filet at LeCellier (my favorite cut of steak) and it was not as flavorful and slightly over cooked. It was still a good steak however, I didn't think it would be worthy of 2 credits.
We have also eaten at the Yachtsman many years ago and although I don't remember the exact details I do remember that it was by far the best meal we have ever had at Disney. Definately worth 2 credits.
I also think the atmosphere at Yachtsman has more of an upscale feel than LeCellier. Although if they removed some of the tables and possibly add nice table cloths and maybe flowers or candles on the tables it could be romantic.
I'm glad we get to go again at 1 credit and I think when we return to Disney again this will open up a spot on our dinning card for a new experience!

This year will be our first time actually getting ADR at LeCellier. Looking forward to it but I know we won't do it for 2 credits.
We were looking at the menus last night for our ADRs coming up next month and found that the menus have changed. We made decesions based partly on the menu items so we are not very happy about that. Oh wel.

I have never had a problem getting one, I always plan this dinner for later in my trip so it's between 183 and 185 days out. I have always been able to get the times I wanted (within 5 or 10 minutes). First time I got 5:20 and this time I tried for 8:00 and got it!
Which menues have changed? I based my choices on menues also.

i finally got my home to let us use the dining plan!!! so now we just have to choose which restaurants we want to eat at!
You're welcome!
My suggestion for getting the LeCellier ADR is first make sure you are on-line at 6:00am on exactly your 180 day morning. I always have the Disney dinning reservation site book marked, I also "practice" making ADR's a few days before just so I know how the site works.
Next if the time of the reservation is important I suggest trying to schedule this dinner for as late in your trip as possible - the further out from 180 days - the less people can book. For example if you arrive on a Monday (your 180) people who arrive up to 10 days earlier have already had their turn at booking times. If you are staying for 7 days and try to schedule for days 5 - 7 there are less people competing for that time on day 180. Make sense?
And my last tip is if all else fails be very flexible with your day and time. I always book LeCellier first! The new on-line reservation system will allow you to search for a "Dinner" reservation without specifying a time - it will list several available times that are considered dinner reservations then you just choose the time you like from the available ones.
