Online check in

Has anyone used the online check in service ? I've read different reports on this good and bad what do you think?

We used it this January and thought it was very convenient, but I guess if you want to request a certain room or location it might be a problem, but we got in around 1am it was nice to just pick up or packet and head to our room.

We used it on our last trip and it made getting in sooo much less time consuming.

I live checking-in in person. There's something about the friendly CM greeting that you get in arrival at a WDW resort which I'd miss if I just picked up a pack.

With online check in you still get greeted and they still do the same things as the live check in. Online just makes it a little faster and you can ask for special requests before you get there so there is a higher chance they will accommodate those. I just did my early check in for Sunday. Can't wait!

Really? I thought you just picked up a pack. Thanks for clarifying that!

Just remember to go to the online-checkin queue. They'll find your folder, greet you, make sure everything is right and see if your room is available. Last time i did it my room wasn't ready so they kept my bags i went to the parks and when i got back my bags were in the room waiting for me. Its definitely very convenient to do early check in. Especially during the busy season where the registration lines can take hours.

I recommend not doing the online check in if it's your first time at a resort because they will tell you where everything is and things like that. But if you've been there before and know your way around it is nice to do

When you do the registration process they tell you where everything is also, its actually a longer process than online check in.

It should be the same either way, the only difference between the two is your packet is already put together with online check-in but they should still go over everything with you.

We used it for the first time last Dec. trip. It was awesome. When we arrived there was a lady standing at the entrance of the resort. She asked for our name and we got checked in. I thought it was weird we didn't even have to go through the line. It was the easiest check in ever.

Online check is brilliant. We used it for the first time on our recent vacation and couldn't believe how smooth it was. We had included birthday and anniversary dates and all our badges were in the pack. The 7 yr old in the party didn't have a celebration date and they even included an "I'm Celebrating" badge so he didn't feel left out. Will use online check in every time from now on.

How soon before your vacay can you do online check in??? And can you select which part of resort you stay in? Eg I'm staying in all star music so can I choose to stay in broadway for example

You can check in on your ten day count down with the link they send you. You can request broadway in special request options and they will try their best.
