Van service

We are staying at Shades of Green in October and they do not have bus transportation from the airport. Has anyone used transportation/limo service other than Mears and can recommend a company? There are 4 adults and one baby (car seat needed). I want to book a reliable company, but would prefer our own van service to SOG so that we do not have to make additional stops.

My grandparents did two trips to Shades, and both times they rented a car from Hertz. You can do a one way rental and drop off. There is a Hertz kiosk at Shades. Rent from the airport, drop it off at the hotel, and vice versa.

A taxi/limo/towncar will cost you about $100 - $200, I suspect...worth a google search if you want to go that way. Watch out for hidden or last minute fees with some of the smaller ones. They will advertise a cheaper rate for transit and then smack you with baggage fees (or maybe that's just an Atlanta thing). I'd google and call a few and ask what the price is, if it's flat, what the fees are, and what is the expected reasonable driver gratuity. If they seem hesitant to respond to those questions, you should try someplace else.

A normal taxi is about $100 from the airport, I believe.

My best advice would be to call the Shades front desk at (407) 824-2437 or the main line at (407) 824-3400. They will easily know what is available and how to help you arrange it.

We were just at Shades about 3 weeks ago, and there was an Alamo counter there. I am not sure if Hertz is still there as well, but there is Alamo for sure. It may be cheaper for you to rent from Alamo at the airport and return it at Shades.
We have never used any limo or bus service, so sorry that I cannot help you there.

Maybe it was Alamo. I could have sworn they said they used Hertz . Definitely worth calling the Shades front desk and asking if you go the rental car route. I posted the numbers above.
