Kids Ages for Discovery Cove.

We are thinking of visiting DC when we visit in November. Our kids are 6 & 8 and both can swim. If we go i would like to swim with the Dolphins, but i am a bit worried that it may be to much for a 6 yr old.
Has anyone any advice ref this ?
Thanks.

I have been to Discovery Cove and I took my 13 yo sister with me. We had the best time of our lives!! You are going to love it. My sister still says it was the best moment of her life. We had some kids in our group with us and they all really enjoyed it. The trainers do special "tricks" with the kids, they love it!!

I guess it depends on how brave and adventurous your 6 yo is. Are they willing to get in FREEZING cold water with strangers?? Because trust me when I tell you that water is COLD!! But you get used to it quickly. The groups are usually in 8 people so there will be others in your group.
The only requirement that they want is that they can tread water for a good period of time and they have to wear life jackets.

If you want any more info on DC just PM me

Thankyou for that, however the ' freezing cold ' water doesnt sound to good. Perhaps for a European it wont seem as bad. It cant be as cold as the English Channel .......................... ! Can it ?

Hmm, I'm not sure about the English Channel, i've never felt how cold that water is But yes, it is very cold. On DC's official website they do refer to the cold water, but like I said, you do wear wetsuits and the experience of being with the dolphins (ours was called Roxy) is definetly worth it, you forget about the cold water very quickly!!
