Anyone been to Aquatica?

I've been to both of Disney's water parks and also Wet n Wild before. We only have one day to spend at a water park this trip and I was thinking of going to Aquatica as it is new and will be something that we haven't done before.

Has anyone been? I'm worried it will be too kid friendly as we are a couple with no kids in our 30's. I like to ride slides and also chill in the shade, we will have a free ticket as we are going to DC and get a 14 day pass that includes Aquatica, where as we would have to pay for a Disney waterpark.

I haven't been but I don't really see why Aquatica would have any more or less kids than a Disney water park.

If you find the Disney parks bearable, I'd say give Aquatica a try. I would guess they'd be pretty similar in terms of guests.

I have been and it is In my opinion The Best water park. The Rapid Ride is fab and the slides are great (except the dolphin one). I would definitely go.

I went a few years ago and it was ok. It's nothing special. Just a lot of long line and stuff. The lazy river was to crowed to enjoy.

I thought there may be more kids if they had a better designated Kids area, we will be going in September so the lines aren't really an issue as I have been this time of year before and know that the crowds are low.
Joulz thanks for your input, I think we will go as we have the free ticket with the DC ticket.

We went the year it opened and hated it, they had a cargo net under the water in the kids bit, they have those big buckets that drop water every so often, so when it drops you can't really see and the result of this..... A massive gouge out of your leg, my god did it hurt! We will never go there again!

We are going to Aquatica today. Last time was in November so we had no queues. Hopefully it won't be too bad x

The Queues were massive for the big slides! But the rapid ride and kids play area were great, we didn't arrive until 3pm and got a seat near the kids play area quite easily. We spent most of the time on the rapids ride :-) the bottles of Bud were lovely
