411MANIA | Toy Story 4 To Be A Love Story Between Woody And Bo Peep

CNBC reports that during the D23 expo, Disney Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter revealed that Toy Story 4 will be a love story with Woody and Bo Peep. He will return to direct the film, along with Josh Cooley.

He said: “It’s a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep. At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money.”

Bo Peep was in the first two Toy Story films, voiced by Annie Potts. She wasn’t in Toy Story 3 and it was hinted that she was sold along with other toys over the years. It remains to be seen if Toy Story 4 will be a prequel or if it will show her return to the other toys at Bonnie’s house. The script is being written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack (Celeste and Jesse Forever) from a story idea by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich. Pixar’s Galyn Susman will produce. It’s believed that Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack and the rest of the voice cast will return. The film arrives on June 16, 2017.
