    Put A Face behind the name/ Bio's

I tryed looking though the posts for this type of thing but I could not find any plus by now there are many new memebers im sure...

I started this thread so we could talk about "ourselfs" So we can get to "know" eatch other little better.

    Ill start,

    My name is Curt W.
Im from Chesterfield MI "about 20 miles north of detroit"
I am 23 years old as of july 22nd.... I love computers and disney. I currently work as a computer operator for a company called CGI www.cgi.com Its a very nice place to work. I have been with CGI since Jan of 2002. Before there I worked at a company called NGS for 2 years. www.ngsamerican.com and my first job I workd for them for a long time but that is long since overwith is ..... Dont laugh...... Mcdonalds I started out there and worked my way up to a manager it was that manager exeperence that allowed me to get into the computer field that im in today. My first computer job was with NGS american. I started low on the scale there working on a AS/400 computer system and worked my way up to second shift Lead Operator.... Problem with working for them was I was WAY underpaid for what I was responsible for .... but like most companys you only get that 5 to 10 cent raise and they hired me in cheap because I had no privious exeperence. ALthough I am excellent with computers I learn exetreamly quick.
I work afternoons from 6 pm to 2:30 am or later lately its been later...... :/
As soon as i get my "credit" taken care of I plan on going to college so I can further my carrer in information tech.. Just not sure what feield yet.

I became a disney finatic after I booked my first trip to WDW / Cruise..... I was constantly thinking that it was a huge waste of money disney is for kids etc.... etc.... I couldent be more WRONG!!!!

Besides sitting at a computer all day and night I like to go bowling swimming and camping..... and I enjoy Star Trek...

I guess you could call me a Trekie but i do NOT like the original series....... I liked the next gen and voyager alot voyager moresoe towards the end when the actors were actually doing a good job acting.....

Hmmm Thats all I can think of for right now........

:mEars: Thanks Curt! What a great idea! I'm just heading out the door so this will be quick! I am 47 and live in Ca., I was born & raised in St.Louis, Mo.. I am a nurse/case manager. I have worked in managed care for the past 17 years, most recently working with infertility patients which was very rewarding.
I have always loved Disney & am very happy to live close enough to DLR to be an annual passholder.. I can say for a fact that Disney is for everyone! I love just seeing the happy faces of people of all ages! Of course I contribute a lot of that happiness to the wonderful cast members at DLR, they really go out of their way to make my visit & everyone else's special!
Thanks again Curt for starting this wonderful thread!:mEars:

Interesting idea Curt. (Of course...this is what the Introduce Yourself thread is for.)

I myself am a 45 year old professional theatrical designer/director who has done this for 40 years. (That's right...do the math! I've been at this a VERY long time!) I have designed theatrical productions,(Poster graphics/costumes/props/sets/makeups/etc.) ballets, operas, Mardi Gras Krewes...you name it....I design/create it! I own a theatrical company that creates family entertainment called Treehouse Players, and to see more about them and the great shows we've created over the years...go to.. http://treehouseplayers.shows.it/

I have worked for Disney from time to time and have had a blast with doing so. I have been an Equity performer and have had the pleasure of performing in a number of well known Broadway productions as well as some of the National Tours as well. I design all sorts of things as well as costumes and graphics/posters, etc. (To see much, much more of my award winning stuff...just click on my little www button at the bottom of any of my posts to visit my theatrical online portfolio.)

I am quite busy with opening a touring production of Amelia Earhart this very Monday Sept. 16th...and The Hobbit for the same touring company on Monday October 7th. (Check out the Hobbit Masques & Theatrical Stuff thread for THAT info and tons of photos detailing the creation of these shows! http://www.talkdisney.com/forums/sho...5&pagenumber=1 And you can visit http://shoestringplayers.shows.it to see more about these shows as well as the posters for them! )

I am also in pre-production design stage for shows like A Midsummer Night's Dream, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie and a number of other shows as well. (And just picked up designing the musical "Singin' In The Rain" yesterday!) I also do tons of work for a group called Porta Puppet Players and you can get to their site by clicking here... http://portapuppets.does.it/ Busy! Busy! And yes...I'm all over the web as you can tell!

I've become Talk Disney's other administrator, with RyanC, and am enjoying visiting and having fun here. (It's therapeutic...usually!) So my plate is full and busy...and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Hey everyone! I think this is a cool idea, too, so I'll join in.

I just turned 32 a couple of weeks ago and my one and only son turns 13 on Monday. He's having a sleepover tonight (so think about me!) and a party tomorrow. I'm divorced (a couple of years now) so it's just my son and me. As you can probably tell from my screen name, my son plays baseball year round!

I'm very active in my church - I'm the nursery director and I'm also a paid worker for the bed babies. I love it! I work full time at the University of Florida in the Contracts & Grants office.

I've been a Disney fan for as long as I can remember! When I was a kid, we used to go every year, but we'd just go down for the day. Now, I like to go for at least 2-3 days at a time. My parents bought annual passes for us last year and I've had a blast! Our next trip is planned for the Super Soap Weekend in November.

Thanks for letting me be a part of this great site - I love it!

    Kim

Wow... well if no one minds, I'll chime in here. I don't normaly like talking about myself, but i'll give it a spin.
I'm 19 and my real name is Rose, but I use the alias Tinkerbell Asuka most of the time when I'm traveling or doing things that have to do with Disney cuse the two characters best describe my personality and just me in general in so many ways. I'm a huge Fantasy and Disney fan (tink), and an even bigger Anime and Sci-Fi fan (asuka). I'm quite and don't say much in real life, but when I wana be I'm boyserous and opinionated and maybe even pouty (tink) while still being a typical teenage who wants to be part of things bigger than herself (asuka). I like the things the way they are (tink) but am always trying to better myself and just plain make things around me "swell and good" for everyone else (asuka). But still I know who I am (tink) and want people to like me sooo badly (asuka). Ok, thats enough "bearing my soul", don'tcha think.
I used to go to atleast 2 sci-fi/fantasy conventions/events a year, but now since I've discovered them, I go to and make costume to wear at atleast 5 anime conventions a year. Going to them and making the costumes takes up most of my free time and money that I'm not wasting online.
Right now I'm a cake decorator/doughnut fryer at Farm Fresh, but I last worked for two years at Busch Gardens, Wmbg VA as the "only employee so almost manager but without the pay" of a childrens toy store in the park. So I like to think I have some experience of being a so called "cast member". I've also had a few other jobs, but mostly experience working with kids.
I've visited Disney World 5 times in my lifetime, loving every moment every time. I've always had plans to spend certain future moments there that were dear to me (some girls plan their weddings, but I had my honeymoon planned instead, yay wdw honeymooners!) I was there for spring break this April 2002, and that was the last straw, I decided my main priority for my future is to find the best cource of action to do it and... move to Orlando and work at Disney World. I think I could make it. A dream is a wish your heart makes. And my heart and wished apon a star. (sappy i know)

*looks back* Wow, this really was a great idea. I've never typed so truthfully about myself, or even talked. This is great. Thank you so much DC for this thread. I feel so good now. *glows*

    What a great idea Disneycruser

My name is Tom, I just turned 19 and I live in Belgium (although I was born in Phoenix, Arizona). I go to an artistic school in Brussels to become an architect. My great dream is to become an Imagineer at Disney, my great examples are Herbert Ryman and Tim Delaney. I've been obsessed with Disney and theme parks all my life, my two favorite theme parks are Disneyland Paris and Efteling (a theme park in the Netherlands designed by another one of my great examples, Anthon Pieck).
My main interest in Disney are the animated feature films, but since my recent trip to DLP, this first place is shared with the theme park
When I take the high speed train, I can get to DLP in 1.5 hours. This is really easy cause the train just stops in front of the resort. Since this journey was so easy, the chance to return there more often, is much much bigger now :%BTup: .
I'm really glad I found this site a couple of months ago. It gives me the opportunity to share my interest in Disney with all you great people. Actually this is the only place I can share this, none of my friends or family understands my obsession with Disney.

    That's about it for now...

Ok folks grab your pillows because, after reading everyone else's interesting dossiers, I'm about to bore you to tears:&Yawn:

I'm 35 years old and my name is Shaughaan. For those of you who are wondering, that nightmare of letters is pronounced "Shawn." I was raised right here in Massachusetts on Cape Cod and now live in a town called Lowell, hometown of Bette Davis and Ed McMahon.

For many years I worked for the commonwealth as a behavioral modification specialist. It's just a big fancy-schmancy title for someone who designs treatment programs for autisic people and teaches the staff at the state hospitals how to impliment them. I had worked my way up to Asst Director of Behavioral Programs before leaving the job due to burnout. Now I just stay at home and help my better half manage our properties, also known as being a landlord, although I do still volunteer my time with some of the local programs.

As far as what I'm interested in, I like working in the garden and cooking. I can make a mean Beef Burgandy and a yummy Shrimp fra Diavolo. I also like working on cars, doing most of my own maintanence. I like listening to music with classical, opera and 70's rock being my favorites (Sarah Brightman and Fleetwood Mac rock!!) I'm also into StarTrek, but like DisneyCruiser, do not like the original series. That "friendly angel" episode did me in on Kirk and the gang. Voyager is my favorite (Janeway rules!!) although I must say the jury is still out on Enterprise.

My primary interest in Disney is WDW. I've been 42 times so far and really enjoy it. Other than the parks, I enjoy taking the hotel tours and all the other recreation they have. There is something to be said about seeing the Magic Kingdom from 600 feet in the air. One of the highlights of a WDW vacation for me is also dining in the various restaurants. The tips that you can get from the chefs down there are amazing.

So I guess that's it. I've prattled on long enough. Obviously, I'm on the right in the picture below. It was taken at one of my closest friend's wedding.
