Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Celebrates Its 5th Anniversary with the Travel Trade and a Series of Celebration Parties Abroad

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s Sales & Distribution Marketing team takes its 5th anniversary celebrations to new heights by holding 11 trade events in 7 markets

(Osaka, 28 September 2010) More than 70 travel trade partners attended the celebration party of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s 5th anniversary held in Osaka today. At the event, trade partners received a first-hand update of the new surprises and unique Disney experiences planned for the 5th anniversary celebration in 2011.

From September to December 2010, the Resort is bringing everyone more surprises to the popular "Disney’s Haunted Halloween" and "Disney’s Sparkling Christmas" because of the 5th anniversary. The darkest-ever Haunted Halloween started on 16 September and continues through 31 October, during which Maleficent, "Mistress of All Evil", takes over Hong Kong Disneyland and unleashes all dark spirits. Then, in mid November, "Disney’s Sparkling Christmas" will be launched. This year, Guests will be stepping into a storybook fantasy as Main Street, U.S.A. transforms into a Christmas Town with new festivities to warm everyone’s heart.

In January 2011, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will bring guests various new experiences and offerings that will last for a year. Entitled "Celebration in the Air", the festivities will take everything to a new height, literally! For the first time, Tinker Bell will appear in the Park. She will join Sorcerer Mickey to shower the Resort with pixie dust. Aerial magic will be added, as the Resort introduces an all-new, highly interactive daily parade called "Flights of Fantasy Parade". Not only does it feature those favorite characters that Guests know and love, it’s also Disney’s most innovative parade yet.

A dramatic centerpiece to "Celebration in the Air" will be Tinker Bell’s pixie dusted castle. By day, the castle will gleam as though it has been showered by Tinker Bell’s pixie dust. By night, it will transform with a dramatic illumination. This special centerpiece will only be available during the celebration year. Many more exciting new experiences and offerings including never-been-seen characters’ costumes, themed merchandise and F&B will be showcased for the whole resort.
