My little brother loves legos so we might be going to the park just for him. I looked into the park to see what they have and it looks alot like it is a park mostly for little kids. most of the rides a saw are small for kids and have only 3 or 4 rides that teenagers or adults would enjoy.
DTD also has an amazing Lego store there!

DTD *does* have an AMAZING Lego Store there.
As far as Legoland is concerned, I haven't been to the new one in FL, but I've been following it.
I think a 3 year old will have a blast (3 year old's always do), but you will probably find that their ride choices are limited.
The property is located on the old Cyprus Gardens property, which used to offer pretty cool Glass Bottom Boat tours of the swamps as well as a pretty neat water skiing show. Fun trivia fact, it was the filming location for "Creature from the Black Lagoon"...if you are into old horror movies.
I do know they kept a lot of the original gardens intact (though updated and spruced up). Dunno if the Glass Bottom Boats are still there (though they are fun to do at any age).
That being said, there are lots of rides/expositions that a 3 year old would probably enjoy thoroughly, but I would think (based on my own 7 year old) that 3 is a bit young for the park, unless you are a Lego fan and just want to see it.
I think that park is probably better enjoyed at 9 or 10.
Just my two cents. Run through their website and youtube for videos of the park/attraction. Lego spared no expense, and it looks like a fantastic park. I'm gonna let it mature a bit and then visit, probably in 2014 or 2015 I think.
