    Legoland - Anyone been?

My oldest son is turning 10 next year and for his bday he wants to visit Legoland for a day, so I think we may go down and stay at WDW but do Legoland.

Anywho my question is...has anyone been to Legoland? If so what are your thoughts? What are the rides like? What is the food like? Can we do it all in a day?

Also if you buy your tickets online do they expire? I have buy 1 adult get one 1 child free tickets from the Lego mag but the code expires Dec 31, I was thinking about buying them this year for next year but didn't know if they would expire.

    Any help would be great!!

This doesn't completely answer your questions, but from what I've seen and heard it's an amazing park. It's gotten rave reviews, and if it's anything like the Legoland here in ATL (we have a small one), it's going to be a lot of fun.

I went there many times when it was Cyprus Gardens, and it was an ok theme park...I'm glad Lego took it over. The place really needed a facelift (though, I hope they kept the Glass Bottom Boats, that's where they filmed "Creature from the Black Lagoon" you know!)

If you're 10 and under its fun. The water show was great. I'd rather spend the extra money and go to Disney.

Legoland is great for kids 12 and under. He will be able to ride all the rides. You can do the park in a day. Maybe 2 if you do the water park. Food selection is ok, The best food we had was the fried chicken by driving school. You get 8 pieces, 4 fries and 4 drinks for around 30. The pizza buffet is ok also. Everything else is essentially burgers and fries. The water ski show is really good and the mini city is amazing. We are from Alabama but have season passes because my son loves it so much. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try and answer them.

Legoland was fun (I've now done it)...

It's worth a trip out there...I'd stay away from their waterpark.

Nothing. It is just not anything like what you'd get at Disney or even Wet and Wild.

There's not enough time to do both in a day, so...Id skip it.

Park admission is steep...though in line with other Orlando offerings... It has coasters, but they are scaled down. Still fun, but more like riding Goofy's Barnstormer (but older and a rougher ride)...

Mini land is lots of fun, and certainly worth seeing, but would hardly take up a whole day (or even half a day).

Cypress Gardens is a large botanical garden in the park that is very well kept up, and would be attractive to adults.

The food there is terrible. Skip it.

Just wanted to share, I found discounts listed on Mousesavers. Even one for free child admission with purchase of adult ticket, good through the end of the year.
