    The WDW Honeymooners Club

I see we have quite a few members who have honeymooned at WDW, so I thought I'd start a special thread.

Tell us about your WDW honeymoon. Where did you stay? Where did you eat? Did you wear the ears? Any special perks? Tell us all about it!

Oh boy what a great topic! Yes DH and I honeymooned at WDW back in 2000! DH's parents gave our trip as our wedding gift. We spent four days at the Caribbean Beach Resort followed by three days on the Disney Wonder (early in its career, in fact it might have been just its third or fourth cruise!). Whirlwind days jam packed to fit in as many memories as we could in those four "park" days.

Unfortunately for me, I didn't really know much back then about special occasion pins or anything like that so we didn't do any of that. But I did get my first pair of ears! The parks were amazing, we also got to do the Leave A Legacy square at Epcot and we've been able to find it and take pictures both times (2005 & 2009) that we've been back and will do it again when we go for Christmas next month!

The cruise ship was fantastic as you can imagine. The only negative was it was too short! Three days was definitely not long enough! Disney truly does an amazing job keeping the adults and kids separate if that's what you prefer. 18+ swimming pools, clubs, etc. on board as well as on Castaway Cay, we had our own luau and private beach.

I have great memories and lots of pictures from that trip, I'll never forget!

Myself and my DH honeymooned in Orlando August just gone. We didn't stay in WDW and split our 2 weeks between WDW, Universal & Seaworld staying down I Drive so we were central.
We had the most amazing time and managed to have a really relaxed approach to our holiday. In WDW we wore the just married pins (they are the his & hers hats) and the badges given to us on arrival (mine fell off so I had to get a replacement!).
When I collected my replacement badge in Epcot guest services the CM called up Mickey & Minnie on the phone who gave us a special message which was nice, CMs throughout the parks congratulated us also.
We didn't get any special perks it was nice that it was acknowledged though!

    Re: The WDW Honeymooners Club

We stayed at POR on our honeymoon. We arrived the day after our wedding, so we truly were "just married"!

Our whole vacation was paid for from our Disney registry. We wore the "Just Married" buttons and the bride (headband style) & groom (big top hat) ears. Tuests and CMs congratulated us constantly and offered to take our picture.

Our most romantic dinner was at Jiko, where they seated us in the "Wine Room" and proceeded to give us a full-blown wine tasting at no charge.

The only negative thing about the honeymoon was that it was too short!

We stayed 10 days at Coronado Springs and loved it! The atmosphere and grounds there are so beautiful. Not to mention great restaurants and the Aztec Pyramid pool!

Getting seated in Jiko's wine room and getting a free wine tasting plus a greeting card signed by Jiko's staff. That was a great surprise!

My DW and I were just married their at DW at the Boardwalk and honeymooned there too. We were there for 11 days. Got there 2 days before the wedding and enjoyed everything. We had our wedding reception at O'Hanna and that was amazing to have a party of 20 sitting around the table.

My wife and I ate at Japan's Teppan Edo and England's Rose and Crown at EPCOT. We also enjoyed eating at T-Rex too, way better than Rainforest by far. We ate at 50's prime time and sci-if over at Hollywood Studios. It was my first time at 50's prime time and it was really good. Also eat over at Tusker House twice ( one of my fav places to eat) for breakfast. Over at the MK we eat at Liberty Tree for lunch and The Plaza for dinner. At Liberty Tree we were given a Christmas ornament for just married.

These were just the sit down dinners and every time was great.

We did learn that taking the train around the MK is amazing and the keys to the kingdom tour is wonderful if you have Matt for a tour guide.

We were married on September 8, 2001. We were scheduled to fly to Disney on September 12th. Then September 11th happened. Disney was great. Worked with us to reschedule for October. We stayed at the Polynesian for 3 days and went on the Disney cruise for the final 4 days. Not a lot of people were flying at that time, so the parks were pretty empty. We ended up having a wonderful time and it's certainly something we'll never forget. Castaway Cay was by far our favorite part of the trip. Can't wait to go back again!

We did at the Character Grove Restaurant in the Swan and Dolphin. We were there for breakfast and they came out with this gorgeous cheesecake dessert covered with berries and chocolate. In the chocolate syrup they wrote "Happy Anniversary" lol

Later that day in Epcot in the "American Adventure" the cast member at the door stop us and said we had a phone call. Me and my husband had no idea what was going on lol. So he took us to this old phone and dialed a number and gave the phone to us. It was Mickey and Minnie Mouse wishing us a Happy Anniversary and Congratulations. Lol then they escorted us upstairs to a balcony area that only we were in. It was awesome!

Does anyone know where to get the "his & hers" ears? We're going on our honeymoon late April and I would love to purchase these before the trip, and pack them as a surprise

I got ours through Laughing Place because I wanted to do the same, but paid a lot more than I would have in the parks.
