    Visiting WDW in December

How are the crowds and the weather typically in the parks during December. Should I book passes to the water parks or is it going to be too cold to do that?

Most things if not all will be being refurbished at the water parks. It gets too cold for me to do anything water related in December

For me: even though the water is heated the air outside isn't. There is a lot of time spent walking in water parks. BRRRR. I'll stick with the hot tub.

I most definitely agree with 2goofycamper that December is not a good month for water parks. Florida can have some hot days in December but most likely it will be too cold for the water parks.

    Re: December weather

We went last year, Nov 30-Dec 6th. It was in the 60's when we got there, but made it to the 80's by the time we left. But, it was a chilly 80's....

I would say just enjoy the pool and hot tub at your hotel if it has one. It would totally stink to book passes and have it to chilly to use the. And, Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment, I believe.

    Have a great time!

    Re: December weather

We go every year in early December. We've hit a lot of cold spells where it went into the 30s overnight and only into the low 60s in the daytime. I like it. I'm hoping for cool weather when we go in 23 days! Cold weather goes nicely with holiday decorations like the Osborne lights.

Average temperature is highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s.

    Disney in December

Hi everyone. I was wondering what Disney is like in December. The week of Christmas to be exact. I would really like to experience it but have also heard about over crowding and was wondering if anyone could recommend going around that time? Thanks!

Well I looked at the wait times for the week of Christmas and the big rides were 120+ minute wait and the less busy rides were at least 30-45 minute wait so I wouldn't dare go at this time. Way too busy for me. The first week of December would be much better for Christmas time.

The parks sometimes close early due to capacity in this week, I think that says enough
How much I love to be in a Disneypark when it's Christmas, I think that will never happen

    Re: Disney in December

Also as far as the first week in December goes every resort but a standard room at the poly is already booked solid so that is not a good week in the upcoming year either.

December used to be a big secret, first 2 weeks but free dining and what not has closed that gap up.... We would never again do a December trip, larger crowds, longer lines and a chance at iffy weather...Xmas decorations you can have, we're back to Sept/Oct until they jam that gap up too?!!

    Re: Disney in December

We go to WDW the first or second week of December every year and we love it! The crowds are moderate and manageable. We've never had a problem during this time. I think WDW is most magical when all the decorations are up.

Christmas week is another story. Capacity crowds. Extreme wait times. We would never go during that last two weeks of December.
