    Competition number two!

This competition will run until May 18 and the winner will receive 7,500 credits.

There's been rumors for a long time that a new country will be built in Epcot.

If The Disney Company came to you and asked you to design that new country, what would you do?

What country would you build and what would be in it? Think about rides, restaurants, shopping, architecture, cast costumes, shows - everything in fact!

It doesn't have to be a huge, extravagant answer going into minute detail about everything. Just they key points are fine. We'll be judging the concept, not the detail.

Just be realistic. Remember the space you have in a typical Epcot land and let your mind run riot.

One entry per person for this competition.

Get thinking - and get imagineering!

    Good luck!
There's a great big beautiful tomorrow
    Just a dream away!

One seems quite fair! Back in a day or two! Can't wait to see what others have to contribute.

    It's on!

    Re: Imagineer an Epcot country!

Had to think about this could choose a few but my favorite would be :

    THAILAND
The buildings would be themed like - The Grand Palace in Bangkok
Thai Cuisine Restaurant menu would include:
Jasmine Rice ; Green Curry ; Chicken stir fried in ginger ; Creamy Coconut Curry with Beef . For desert : Fruit Salad with Papaya, Mango, Pineapple and Lychee's ; Coconut Cake ; Star Fruit in Mango Orange sauce . You may get the idea I just love Thai Food

Thai Traditional Handcrafts Shop would sell : Wonderful colourful Lacquerware ; Rattan & Wicker work; Carvings ; Ceramics

There would be a gentle small boat ride meandering around beautiful islands with a Disney ' Finding Nemo' theme . A ride all the family can enjoy .

I would also have a peaceful Buddhist themed garden with shaded area's for people to rest a while .

Showcasing every hour would be Traditional Thai Dance - The Butterfly Dance would be lovely to see.

I think an oasis of calm with delicious Thai Food would be fabulous.

No, who would have guessed you loved Thai food! <grin>

I LOVE the idea! The theme would be fresh, and your ride sounds like a relaxing adventure in an area that a) needs more rides, and b) needs relaxing rides (since Futureworld has turned into Thrill Central).

Also, I loved the detail you went into with the restaurant. The menu items made my mouth water!

    Good luck!

    I love it!

The boat ride sounds idyllic and the food sounds even better (though can I request tamarind duck and a pad thai?).

    Great ideas!

The tamarind duck and pad Thai is the exact dish where my mouth started to water!

Don't forget the Tom Ka Gai soup and red curry! I love the idea of a Thai country in Epcot.

As part of the Talk Disney team I'm not eligible for the prize, but I wanted to play anyway. When thinking about what country I would choose, I made a list that included Thailand, Spain/Portugal, Greece, and Ancient Egypt, but settled on designing India.

The architecture would include the Taj Mahal, India Gate, and there would be huge elephant statues. You would hear Indian music as you walk through the pavilion. There would be an art gallery with Indian art through the ages.

The attraction would be a dark ride with a boat cruise through the history of India, partially narrated. Or there could be big elephant vehicles where you would sit in a compartment on top of the elephant as it "walks" through the dark ride.

Shops would sell clothing made from gorgeous fabrics, plus jewelry, books, DVDs and CDs, art prints, sculpture, kitchen- and housewares, etc. There would be a small theater showing a continuous loop of Bollywood film excerpts. They could even have a dance troupe that performs a few times a day.

And then there would be the fabulous restaurant...tandoori, curries, naan, mango lassi, etc. YUM!!!
