    Mission: Pregnant at WDW

    Hello there! TinkerTalina here!

I'm a wife and mother of two with a little bun in the oven and right now, I'm on scale, waiting for the plane that will take me to the happiest place! This is my first trip while expecting, and my girls' first trip to WDW (and it's a surprise!)

In a bit we will be boarding our plane, so I want to let you know a few things about me and how I've been getting ready. We had planned this trip for two years now, but baby was unplanned! I'm a fairly active person, lift weights and do cardio training several times a week. So, I'm in fairly good shape, not great but certainly no stranger to exertion.

My girls are 7 and 5, and on this trip my parents and brother are traveling with us. We live in Central Mexico, where the weather is hot and humid, a bit hotter than in Lake Buena Vista but a lot less humid.

My Gynaecologist checked me two days before the trip and everything is in order, no medical issues to interfere or modify our trip. So, having said that, here's a

    WARNING:

Every pregnancy is different. I may me able to do things that other pregnant women won't, and vice versa. Check first with your health practitioner of choice (mine is my gynaecologist ) and if you find one that knows WDW, better yet! Be careful and listen to your body!

They are calling our flight ! Talk to you later!

So sorry about the radio silence yesterday! Everything conspired against me sharing the report of the day! But more on that later First things first:

At check in CM Wes was so very nice and helpful! Thank you so much, Wes!!!

I really expected not to sleep the first night. A strange bed, all the stress of the airports and immigration and all, plus settling down in our new surroundings for the week AND the growing belly, I was sure I wouldn't get a wink of rest!

The beds. At the Cars suite. Are. So. Comfortable! The pullout sofa bed has a very thick mattress, and after a call to front desk for extra pillows, baby and I were really comfy! Would have slept through the night if it weren't for my crazy brain that kept making me think it was time to get up and get ready! Then again, maybe my brain though I was so deeply asleep that I might slip into a coma. Thank you do much, brain!

First day was Magic Kingdom, and this is what we did (attractions and activities, I'm not going into details about food or shopping, just rest assured, the food was delicious and the shopping copious!)
    - Mickey meet and greet ( the girls were ecstatic!) - Main Street show (awesome! I wanted to join in!)
    - Swiss Family Robinson
    - Pirates of the Caribbean
    - Splash Mountain
    - Haunted Mansion
    - Voyage of the little Mermaid
    - Chip and Dale meet and greet
-The many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
    -Gaston meet and greet
    - It's a Small World
    - Mad Tea Party
    - Merida meet and greet
    - Philharmagic
    - Cinderella's Royal Carrousel
    - Wishes

We got at the park at 9 am and left at 10 pm. The crowds were moderate, the weather was good. And we had a wonderful experience with CM Gerry at the Liberty Tree Tavern!!! What a wonderful lady!

    Now for the pregnancy angle:

I didn't have any swelling issues, I drank lots of water. I found that the rides gave me sufficient and frequent rest between all the walking and standing in line. I drank no sodas, just water or tea with our midday meal.

The ride that I was a bit (just a leeetle bit) cautious about, because my dr told me I could do it but to be watchful if I had any symptoms (dr knows I went waterskiing while expecting my first, sooo...) was Splash Mountain. Other than getting soaking wet, and I mean soaking, I was perfectly fine! Again, every pregnancy is different so be watchful and listen to your body.

I did barely made it to my bed after a very long day, and this time I tried the trundle bed, every bit as comfy as the sofa. I'll let you know about our day at Hollywood Studios tomorrow. This doll has to get some shut eye to be ready for Epcot tomorrow! See ya!

Ok. Our day at HS was very, very hot! By 10 am we had bought a couple of water mist fans and drank so much water from the fountains. You bet I did not complain about the flavor! Plus the usually cold water was lukewarm, it was THAT hot a day.

I remembered HS as a small, half-day park. Boy was I wrong! It's great to go with people that have not gone before because it forces you not to "skip" rides and then you are surprised anew with how fun they are and you wonder how on earth did you think you could pass them over and not miss much. For me this time it was The Great Movie Ride. We had such a busy day that I didn't get anywhere near ToT or RnRC

    This was our day:

    - Goofy and Pluto meet and greet
    - Star Tours (the girls loved it and they haven't watched Star Wars! )
    - watched Jedi Academy
    - Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
    - Toy Story Mania
    - One Man's Dream. My dad was quite upset there were so few people here, because without Walt none of the parks would exist. He liked the Parks but he came back a firm admirer of the man, and of his brother Roy.
    - The great Movie Ride. We got gangsters and my littlest screamed like a banshee when we got to the Temple of Doom section
    - Mr. Incredible and Frozone Meet and greet
    - Animation Academy? I forget the proper name.
    - meal at Sci Fi Theatre. Delicious and very filling! My favourite here was the apple crumble! You gotta try it!
    - Lights, Motors, Acion! My brother (32 ) is too cool to be excited by anything (psha!) but he was like a little kid here!
    - Voyage of the Little Mermaid
    - and some shopping in between

It was a great, fun day! Now for the pregnancy angle:

I don't think I drank enough water for such a hot day. By 7 pm I was way too tired, and my brain was not fully functioning... Well, I guess I can't blame water for that, I'm scattered brained on a good day. Other than that, I had no troubles! I have very low blood pressure that gets lower in hot weather but I did not have an episode. The water mist fans were fantastic for keeping cool!

Talk to you later about our day at Epcot! We are off to AK! See ya!

    Re: Mission: Pregnant at WDW

ok! here we go! I'm sorry for not posting the rest of the report, life got complicated catching up with work, doctors appointments and school work, but here we go again!

    Our day at Epcot!

I was really anticipating this day because for starters, Epcot is my favourite park, and also we would be celebrating my mom's birthday!

We started bright and early after picking up our new rental van. During the night one of the tires of our rental had gone flat. No puncture, no reason, just plain lost air pressure, so instead of just changing the tire, the guys at Alamo in Car Care Center simply gave us a new van. Talk about cool! this one was even better than the last!

So we had a fun but rather tiresome day at Epcot, I guess all the walking and the heat of the days before were catching up with us, and we ended up making several stops to rest. The girls liked the park but in their own words, they "liked the Castle park better" We took advantage of all the air conditioned rides and pavillions, but by the time the fireworks were starting we were all ready to go. I was sad that the girls missed it, but I am already making a list of things we couldn't do this time so we can make sure to do them in the next trip we take to WDW!

Food and Wine Festival was in full swing, and we wanted to try several foods, but after stopping for a brief rest at the Boulangerie (and some creme brulee for yours truly) we ended up having our midday meal there. We did sample the food in Canada and oh boy! was it delicious!

    This is what we did:

    -Spaceship Earth
    - Innoventions East
    -Innoventions West
    - Character meet and greet: Mickey, Minnie and Goofy
    - Club cool (yes, I did try the Beverly... not as nasty as I expected!)
    - Soarin (the girls absobloominglutely loved it!)
    - Living with the Land
    - Journey into the imagination
    - Oh Canada!
    - Character meet and greet: Alice (UK)
    - Lunch at the Boulangerie
    - Pick a Pearl ! (gave my mom hers in a cute pendant she chose as a birthday present)
    - The American Adventure
    - Maelstrom
    - Grand Fiesta Tour

We did visit ALL Pavillions, but I only listed the ones with rides. I was a bit dissapointed we had not enough time to see ALL of Epcot, it really is my favourite park and I feel it's the one where we did less stuff.

    Now for the pregnancy angle...
It was rather tiresome because the girls kind of lost interest in exploring each pavillion after they got their passports signed at the KidCot stations, so they tended to get a bit more difficult to manage, and soon they started to complain of being tired of walking. That stressed me out a bit, since my dad's gout was acting up, my brother was... being difficult and my mom and I couldnt just pick the girls up and carry them, they are so big now! I ended up desperately craving a backrub and a glass of wine, neither of which I got! other than that, I had no trouble at all ! I guess I needed to take things a bit more calmly instead of fretting for every little detail. I did take advantage of EVERY drinking fountain I found, wether I felt thirsty or not! no swollen ankles, no headaches!

    Tell you tomorrow about AK!!
