    disney cruise November 2015

Hi! My husband and I are planning on going on our first cruise in November of 2015. We have never been on a cruise before. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Amazing cruise. We went on the Fantasy we I would book a dinner at Remy.. Worth the money. Excursions were great, ship was clean and so much to do. Bring your exercise clothes..the workout room is worth the view. The spa is luxurious

Well, new cruisers? I have been in your shoes!

    First advice...

    1) It's not WDW. It's not the Parks. It's NOTHING like the parks aside from the common Disney theme.

So, just relax and enjoy it. No need to worry about FP+ or Dining Reservations. Just, sit back and relax.

    2) Disney Cruise Lines allow you to bring adult drinks on board. Yeap, booze. But ONLY in your carry on. If you like to have a nightcap, save some money and pack some rum or drink of choice in your carry on. I brought a large bottle of Rum which lasted me quite well through the trip, and I only bought 3 drinks while on board (one of which I was snookered into because it was during the Sailing Away party and I was so confused I assumed it was free...but it wasn't, it was 10 bucks).

    3) If you ever want to skip restaurant meals, you can still get restaurant offerings through Cabanas. Later at night, they close down half of it and turn it into a "mid-level" restaurant that you can eat at until about an hour after the second dinner service.

    4) Oh, Cabanas...that's the AMAZING buffet restaurant in the aft of the ship. Open from Breakfast until 11p or so (I forget the exact hours, but they will be on your Navigator)

    5) Navigators... These are daily printed newsletters, though I think they've gone all digital now and you get them through your phone. Point is, these things are priceless gems of info and ideas for your trip.

    6) Aside from offshore excursions, there's little reason to book things before your cruise. Rather, book much closure or even during (including Remy/Palo/Virtual Reality Games, etc...) If you fail to show to one of these events, you will still be charged the full cost.

    7) Relax.

    8) Dress up for Pirate Night and be nerdy!

    9) The adult's section of the boats are amazing, check them out!

    10) The boat isn't overrun with "screaming kids" or anything that you've probably read some places. DCL does an amazing job of giving you a top quality experience and a relaxing atmosphere.

    11) Get free snacks from Vista Cafe (the coffee shop in the Grand Atrium, goes by different names depending on the boat)

    12) Don't bother with Shutters. It's overpriced, and you won't get much.

    13) BOOK A BOUNCEBACK BEFORE YOUR CRUISE IS OVER!!!!!!!! (unless you really hated the experience)
